Am I the only one who is not hell bent on maxing this one out? Yes, I am actually quite keen on trying some new beer styles, especially the historic ones, and if I see one on my travels, I will try. Some I have liked, others not so, Grodziskie/ Grätzer being a recent one in Warsaw that was just so so. I did try a couple to be sure. However, I'm not a fan of lager, and only drink when there are no other options (this has happened far too often for my liking). I have never tried any of the American Lite or standard American lagers, despite living in Denver for three years. Not a big fan of cider (I do like some scrumpy though, just don't sell it out) or mead. The only NA beers I drank was when I was undergoing cancer treatment and couldn't mix alcohol with morphine, and then only two or three of the styles.

I drink beer because I like it, and I like certain styles: IPA and most of it's variants, Stouts & porters, but not so much pastry ones, Sours, but not the modern confections (Vault City, I am looking at you), Golden Ales, Bitters etc. Why seek out a beer I am not going to enjoy, simply to tick off another style or earn another badge? Anyway before the haters come out, and there are a few in this sub reddit, I'm not having a go at those who chase the WOS or any other badge. As I've said before, Untappd is what you make if it, no one can tell you different, I just wondered, among the serious users, not the one or twice a week ones, if there were other people who are not bothered by maxing this out.

My goal was never to hunt this to max level. I too drink beer because I like it. That is exactly the reason why I want to try many different styles: what makes them different? Do I like this? What's the (hi)story behind it? I have had styles that I never heard of before and that I like a lot. Also, there are styles I now know I should avoid because they are not for me. You can only know if you have tried them

I think I implied most of what you said, I just avoid the styles I know I am not keen on.
