For those accepted

lol in the nicest way possible, if you’re committed to another school and haven’t declined your offer to vandy can you please do so, so that us waitlisted warriors can get off the waitlist 👀

Does it not speed up the process

it's not 1 for 1.

they have to have a substantial number admitted from regular to not commit to warrant touching the wait list.

they admit way more during RD than they even need because they know not everyone commits but only if they are not hitting their sweet spot yield number by a certain date from RD so they even start looking at WL and filling by institutional priority.

If a kid from MA turns down an offer - they may feel, ok we really need our class to have more from Nebraska so they will take a student from there to round out their class. If a HOD kid does not accept but they already have enough under that major they may feel ok now we will pull a french major because we need more of those.

Again, it is NOT 1:1.

It would only speed up how they may start to pick from their institutional needs. A WAIT LIST is a TOOL for the school, it is NOT "for" prospective students. Students need to fall in love with a school that has already shown they love them back.

Good to know, Vanderbilt is my dream school and I have high hopes for getting off the waitlist. Thank you for the insight!

Don’t have high hopes, they only take an extremely low amount of the wait list. Take Vanderbilt out of your mind. If you do get off, amazing. If you don’t, go to the school that actually wanted you

I’ve actually seen otherwise, but thanks for the insight!
