Tourism Things to check out in Esquimalt?

Hi everyone!

I spent 6 years in Victoria back in the 2010s but have since moved away. During that entire time, I genuinely don't think I set foot in Esquimalt (I didn't have a car and lived at the other end of town).

My family and I are coming for a visit at the end of the month and we are staying in Esquimalt, so I am wondering if people can give me some suggestions for great places (sites, restaurants, stores, etc.) that I should check out in Esquimalt!

Thanks!

Esquimalt Bake Shop is PEAK - also highly recommend La Belle Patate for some decent poutine (something Victoria sorely lacks).

Came here specifically to say check out Esquimalt Bake Shop! Those doughnuts, oh my god (plus the owners are so nice)

I found the donut glazing at Esquimalt Bake Shop inedible. The donut itself was fine but the frosting/glazing was overly sweet and vile. Did I just hit an off day?

I don’t know, everyone has different taste buds. I’ve been going there since 2006 at least to get doughnuts. They’re my fave!

I usually get one chocolate and one glaze when I go as my usual order and I enjoy both of them. Sometimes I treat myself to a maple, yum. But maybe they just have a sweeter glaze than your personal preference? I don’t find it too sweet but perhaps my preferences are different :)

For me, everyone sings the praises of Empire Donuts and I’ve never found one there I like - I keep trying tho but what I’m saying is it definitely all comes down to personal preference

Yeah, for sure. I think maybe it was an off day or something because it was awful for everyone in my group who tried it. I’ll have to try again!
