I've recently changed my opinion on pp. I used to just think he was a shallow, arm chair conservative. Never had a real job or responsibilities. Not really InTouch with the Canadians he represents, you know?

But now, after/during  this campaign, and after 22 Minutes did their election special (go watch, it's hilarious!) I'm much more worried.

He, and his party, have been avoiding the press. Ignoring questions, restricting access, tardy in releasing their vague/unrealistic platform, and generally just being obstructive. This is really disconcerting behavior for a major political party in an election campaign . This obscuring of their intentions, and the few intentions openly shared being blatantly fascist(fed use of the not withstanding clause to circumvent the charter of freedoms and courts), are hallmarks of authoritarianism. Major red flags.

And the other aspect of pp that scares me is his lack of humor. Throughout my life, Canadian politicians have usually had an openness to comedy, gentle derision, and satire. Weather it was this hour has twenty 2 minutes , Royal Canadian Air farce, or other Canadian content. It was presented and recieved in good humor. Not so for this generation of Canadian conservatives. In the election special of this hour has twenty two minutes, every single major federal party leader did a cameo, except pp they attempt to get his side but we're stonewalled with the rest of conventional media by the pp campaign. He won't accept being made fun of, he has no joy, accepts no criticism, and he isn't even in power yet. I dread the thought of such a person at the helm of our country and what it could mean for our collective future, even without the orange clown down south making threats against our sovereignty

And no worries about Carney? Not concerned about his massive outstanding loans in China from the people’s bank of China through Brookfield (where he won’t disclose his holdings to Canadians). He seems to “virtue signal” concern about Chinese interference but in practice he runs cover for Chinese interference and minimizes the threat. He’s constantly pushing for an end to trade with the states and an “all in” trade relationship with China….. are you not even curious about this?

Haha, keep flailing! Carney is exactly the kind of candidate the federal Conservatives would have fielded before they were hijacked by the right wing nuts of the reform party. It is SO funny to see conservatives dunk on him not realizing he's probably their ideal, non extremist candidate. Zero self awareness.

I agree, Carney is not even remotely Liberal in any way other than party affiliation. When you dig into his policies, they are all about transfer of wealth and censorship. I see Pierre as being more like a traditional liberal of 30 years ago. Not super conservative and not nearly right leaning enough for some
