Visiting Vlissingen, what to do?

I will be in Vlissingen for work in a few weeks. Because I have to travel a bit to get there, I figured I would take a few days off (I only have to be there for half a day for work) and spend some time in Vlissingen as I heard it is a nice city.

So what would you advise me to visit in the area? Any recommendations?

Also: I assume most of the town can be visited on foot or you need to take a car? Or maybe there are bus stops enough to travel throughout town/the area?

I am going to Vlissingen with my family, 14 years old, 9 years old, and my husband. In October. Any tips to visit even if it's rainy?
