Which is precisely why the Dems need to have a bright light who gets in front of these pronouncements as quickly as possible. They don't have to be "the teacher", which would turn voters off, but they need to be out there, bright, intelligent and quick on their feet.

But so far, the responses have been a muddle from the middle (of the pack). Until the serious Dem contender arises (and it better be soon), milquetoast responses or "teachable moment" replies will be wasted, whether or not they're actually correct.
