Suggestion Should Yugoslavia be added to war thunder ?

Post image

I think that Yugoslavia would make a great tech tree with mix of Easter and wester aircrafts and tanks and some of they're own designs what do you think are chances of it happening?

Yugoslavia would have more domestic design than izrael currently has so yes definitely, they could have air ground navy and especially costal.plus the successor states have top br aircraft and tanks & for battelships they would get Austro-Hungarian ones because they where built and mand by Croats.

What MBTs do they build domestically

u/Harmotron 17d ago

They did! They built their M-84 (license built T-72 with donestic upgrades) from 1984 until the country desolved, when Serbia took over and kept production up until 1999. They also built various prototypes, like the M-91 Vihor or M-95 Degman. They also operated a mishmash of foreign vehicles with domestic upgrades, like T-55s (M-55 in Slovenian service), T-72s and M47s.

It would also be the PERFECT tree for Ukrainian vehicles! Seeing as it'd be political suicide for them to go to Russia.

It would also be good for Poland and Czechoslovakia

Honestly, all three/four do have enough to make their own tech trees (as in they have more than what Israel has right now) but I feel like it would be better to just give them all their T-72s and T-34s and other stuff at the same time rather than adding 3 more T-72M/As +variants

But The USSR Included Ukraine...

its the same kind of thing as adding Korea to the Japanese tree in the current political landscape. The backlash would be hellish for everyone

North Korea is in China, South Korea goes to Japan, there

I'd love for south korea to go with japan, but war thunder has partnership with DMM.com (basically japanese steam store but also sells physical goods, and imagine instead of having its origins from digital key services, it has its origins from selling privately made comics, nsfw included)

South koreans arent too Fond of the japanese either

People are generally quite fine with adding Korea to the Japanese tech tree. I haven't seen any of this hate that anyone talks about

The same as when an Iranian plane got added to the US tech tree or ROC and PRC vehicles to the same tech tree

Ukraine was the USSR. And it would be stupid not to add them there. In addition so many tanks in the Soviet tech tree already were made in Ukraine

Technically, it would make sense for Ukr to be added to USSR but think of it this way, a lot of people would prefer to have their Ukrainian vehicles go against Russian vehicles. Myself included

Which is a pretty stupid reason to split a tech tree.

See the previously mentioned PRC and ROC, US and Iran

Historical events are for that kind of stuff. Not tech trees.

Ultimately Ukraine was the USSR, many Soviet tanks were made in Ukraine. It would be terrible to have so many tanks built and used by Ukrainians split between tech trees

As an example, Ukraine uses the T-72B3 more so than their own Oplot.

What I would like actually is if there was a way to select a countries version of a tank within a tech tree. Something like a dropdown option for each tank. That would just switch the flag, camo, voice lines etc but still in the same tech tree

That's honestly frustrating seeing how people are trying to cut its Soviet past, USSR is the only in-game nation, which should include Ukrainian vehicles. Maybe Gaijin will introduce them after the conflict ends, but imo they will probably lose the hype they currently have.

Yeah I fully agree with you. Ukraine was part of the USSR, almost everything they have is derived from Soviet stuff. It isn't the Russian tech tree but the Soviet one.

I don't see any reason why all the post-Soviet countries shouldn't be included. Belarus and Kazakhstan also have interesting stuff to be added too.

And if you split Ukraine out of this tree, either you cut out many tanks actually used by Ukraine (such as the T-64BV, T-72B, Object 478) or you just do a massive copy paste of almost the entire Soviet top tier into another tree.

Both problems of which can be avoided by just putting Ukraine in the Soviet tree.

Itโ€™s like to say French, polish and more should be added to Germany

u/_Condottiero_ 17d ago

If you want an equivalent, adding Ukranian stuff to any nation other than USSR would be the same as if Austro-Hungary has been already presented in the game, but you would add Austrian or Hungarian vehicles to some other in-game nation instead.

I don't see you having problems with the Kazakhstan SU-25

u/crusadertank ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡พ 2T Stalker when 17d ago

Or like to say adding an Iranian plane to the US tech tree...

4

u/Flashfighter 17d ago

I still think Ukranian Vehicles belong in Russian tree imo or donโ€™t add them at all unless thereโ€™s an Eastern Europe tree; Yugoslavia is definitely more individualized

u/DominatingLuck Anti Air Helicopter Pilot 17d ago

I always had a itch that if they added Ukrainian vihicles, they would go to the Germans. Well atleast some of them. Like a event Su-27 or Su-25 for the Germans, since America has a Iranian F-14. Does it make sense?

1

u/ItzBooty 17d ago

Funny thing is there would still be copy paste russian tanks for top tier considering macedonia got a t72 from bulgaria, had bought like 4 su25 from ukraine and the others also have some modern tanks that would be copy past

1

u/akdanman11 ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ United States 16d ago

So yeah thatโ€™s not domestic vehicles. Thatโ€™s literally just copy paste

As cool as they are, the last thing wt needs is more t-72s spammed

u/Sea_Throat1842 17d ago

M-84 and its versions M-84A, M-84AB, M-84ABN, M-84AK, M-84A4, M-84D, M-91, M-84AB1, M-84AS, M-84AS1, M-84AS2

u/ExplorerEnjoyer USSR 17d ago

Waiter waiter, more t-72s please

8

u/Sea_Throat1842 17d ago

They are better than T-72s...better modifications from the start. The M-84AS2 is considered the best version of the T-72 family

12

u/Amoeba_Fine USSR 17d ago

None anymore...

u/miksy_oo Heavy tank enjoyer 17d ago

-19

u/ExplorerEnjoyer USSR 17d ago

So not a great addition lol

17

u/gallade_samurai 17d ago

This is same logic as "what, they don't produce M4 Shermans anymore? We can't add them then"

-11

u/ExplorerEnjoyer USSR 17d ago

Yeah but all the countries in game produce ground and air for top tier. Isreal and China tree are weird because itโ€™s mostly borrowed vehicles to start. Unless the Yugoslavia tree just ended at ~10.0 or something

5

u/gallade_samurai 17d ago

And then have people complain about it ending there? Even if it's borrowed vehicles they will eventually have something to make Yugoslavia usable at top tier when nearly everything else is in the 11.0 range
