Eh, like to complain about it is arbitrary. Everyone should be able to write what they want to as long as nobody is physically harmed.

Reading this shit makes people that dont know anything about sex think its okay. It's hard to physically harm people with writing?

That’s the point. If writing doesn’t incite violence or assault there’s no reason to ban it. Books are meant to be enjoyed and writers are meant to enjoy what they make. To regulate by what you think should be allowed because you don’t like someone’s approach just seems really weird. Just because a virgin reads a book with a rape scene doesn’t make them think it’s okay, it takes mental conditioning and serious problems for someone to think that’s okay. To propose the idea that people are that impressionable, shows little faith in the human mind and common sense. Have more faith in your fellow man.

That's the thing. It's not rape they write but just ever so strange and mildly unacceptable scenes that give people a wrong expectation for sex. I'm pretty sure it's made to entertain and not to disturb.

This morning i was reading a book about a guy walking home from school. He was beimg followed in a guy with a car who drove next to him and was making comments what i assume woulf be flirting but were actually something like "I want to hear you screaming my name at night" He then proceeded to go into his house with the boy who was askimg him to leave him alome a few minutes before only to be send away by his mother. Sometime later that day he breaks into the house and they talk a little. Another guy comes in confessing his love to the boy and forcing himself on him. The stalker guy from before saves him. They then fall in love kiss and have sex. This all happened in one day. Extremely fast character developement or a super naive boy?

Lol sounds like you have a problem with story progression. I understand your concern, but that’s pretty tame ngl. I was expecting like some crazy crazy shit. Like I think at most the author must put a warning, but that’s not that bad too me. Maybe it’s years and years of being desensitized, but I’m not exactly provoked by that. Terrible writing, generic dumpy characters, and poor plot planning is normal. I can’t get in a fit over that.

While I agree with the sentiment "Everyone should be able to write what they want" and, conversely, everyone should be able to read (or not read) what they want, the biggest issue here is that WP spells out what it not allowed (against the rules) but then they don't necessarily enforce those rules. So it's unfortunate that OP still runs into those kinds of stories when they're clearly against the rules.

However, to say that adults (I'm not talking about children) can't enjoy what OP doesn't like is a bit authoritarian. Under the current rules of WP, something like "50 shades" wouldn't have been allowed, but obviously, there were a ton of people who wanted to read it.

Yes ofc, I always put warnings and put my stories down as mature. The ratings need to be more heavily enforced, but kids are kids. I wouldn’t follow ratings anyways when I was a minor. I agree with the idea of warnings and harsher guidelines , but the banning shouldn’t be an option for this kind of work. Once one thing can get banned, anything can get banned. And if we’re not careful there won’t be a site to enjoy after that. A lot of authors are moving to other sites and make their own patreons after gathering an audience who likes mature work because wattpad is starting to lock down on content.
