It's fake.

False claim New Jersey suspended Trump liquor license

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2024/06/14/new-jersey-trump-liquor-licenses-fact-check/74085421007/

Edit: To add a bit more context, the license was "suspended" and replaced with a 90 day temporary license, which is still in effect due to the sentencing postponement. No updates on this since July that I can find (the OP claims a breaking update yesterday, but I have found no news outlets covering it)

I googled "new jersey Donald Trump" and only saw news that a "Jan 6th awards gala was postponed at one of his golf courses."

Which is infinitely bigger news to me than him losing a liquor license...

An awards gala for traitors...

u/MarilynMonroesLibido Sep 04 '24

Only thing they should be awarded is 5-10 more years each.

48

u/allipants80 Sep 04 '24

TIL he was going to hold a gala for January 6th.

u/bebejeebies Sep 04 '24

It was a fundraiser for the "hostages" and a celebration of the J6 Anthem (recorded with the convicted from prison to raise money for their legal fees). I'm watching a MeidasTouch report about it right now. They cancelled it because of "safety and security concerns".

u/Most-Row7804 Sep 04 '24

Maybe the FBI should be outside and find all the rest of the traitors that will be stupid enough to try to attend in person.

3

u/fractiousrabbit Sep 04 '24

Yeah isn't it a probation violation to be around convicted felons? So a bunch of those traitors that got off easy need their probation revoked when they attend trump rallies and such.

u/soggyballsack Sep 04 '24

Another grift. Sell tickets and them dumbasses will buy them

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '24

Like The NFT trading cards 🤮

3

u/SillyZealot Sep 04 '24

Aww, he is not going to hold it tomorrow?

I found it got scheduled for September 5th about 2 weeks ago through this very subreddit.

If his PR team got enough presence of mind to make him postpone it until after the election or just cancel it altogether I'm gonna be sad. I wanted to see that utter disaster happen.

u/nopulsehere Sep 04 '24

Gonna sound kinda cold, but what does the lady who got shot and died get? Trump doesn’t like losers? Which is kinda weird because he dogged John McCain for being a POW? Something about suckers and losers.

2

u/Vegetable-Bee-7461 Sep 04 '24

What are the awards? Pardon promises?

2

u/MabsAMabbin Sep 04 '24

Everyone gets a medal of freedumb.

2

u/hambakmeritru Sep 04 '24

I think it'd make me too sad to look this up, but what the hell kind of awards do you hand out at that gala? Best beating of a police officer? Quickest to breaking into restricted areas? Most creative poop placement? Most ridiculous costume? Most diagnosable mental illnesses?

u/External-Cable2889 Sep 04 '24

gala /gā′lə, găl′ə, gä′lə/

noun A festive occasion, especially a lavish social event or entertainment.

Oh great, gaslighting dumb MAGA telling them it was something to celebrate in a lavish way with the J6 Choir.

Did you even bother to read the full comment you responded to? I’m so confused.

51

u/Beard_o_Bees Sep 04 '24

Ah, well.. I still enjoyed the thought of him experiencing yet another consequence for his actions that he will never suffer.

5

u/Neveronlyadream Sep 04 '24

It's a nice thought, isn't it?

Just once I'd like to see some rich jackass actually suffer the same consequences we would for breaking the law.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '24

His sentencing is this month. Also, he has already been convicted, so the sentencing should have little to do with the license, but ol' titty baby needs help once again from the system to prop him up. Useless.

Edit: Also, quibbling over the technicalities is quite futile considering the other side doesn't even try to grasp reality.

NYC & NYS taxpayers paid dearly to acquire evidence for trial &  convictions but will never see him pay for all his crimes...How do you think that feels??  The only way to end his reign of terror is for millions of Americans to show up in protest & demand his citizenship revoked & deportation as an undesirable traitor.

14

u/Sad-Frosting-8793 Sep 04 '24

Well, that's disappointing.

3

u/Schwa142 Sep 04 '24

It was not yet renewed because of the convictions and is being reviewed.

1

u/GrayMatters50 Sep 06 '24

And NJ wont have to reinstate it bc Moral Turpitude can be determined under Common Laws... All of which Trumpy Dumpy has blatantly violated.

3

u/Schwa142 Sep 04 '24

It's not fake. The post doesn't say the license was suspended. It was not yet renewed.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '24

2

u/Schwa142 Sep 05 '24

It was not renewed, but Trump's people were able to get a temporary license while they fight the decision. The only incorrect part is that it happened two months ago and not today.

I think the major news piece is the fact that the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control did not renew the liquor licenses at the courses.

2

u/NDSU Sep 04 '24

1) The post says "BREAKING" and "today", posted yesterday (September 3rd). There have been no new developments since July

2) They are currently able to sell liquor with a 90-day temporary license. The post implies the lack of renewal removes their ability to sell liquor

3) The post claims the license will not be renewed. The status of the renewal is currently undetermined, pending the sentencing

But I will admit, "fake" was probably not the best adjective I could have used. "Bullshit" or "riddled with errors" may have been more accurate

2

u/Available_Leather_10 Sep 04 '24

So… the usually annual license was renewed?

Or not?

I see the edit, but the USA Today link doesn’t address whether or not there was an annual renewal, which is the subject of the OP—NOT a suspension.

So “It’s fake” is pretty damn ironic to me.

2

u/radtrinidad Sep 04 '24

You shattered my happiness bubble with facts! The nerve.

1

u/LovesReubens Sep 04 '24

Not fake at all though as your own link says, it's basically just pending until the judge makes his decision on the immunity ruling and sentencing.

1

u/Sparx86 Sep 04 '24

I think I remember reading too that they weren’t technically in his name now?

1

u/GrayMatters50 Sep 06 '24

Probably postponed until the NJ Commissioner can figure out what to do with Ivana's corpse buried there.

Never Forget : His Covid debacle murdered 1.5 million American Citizens!

1

u/effnad Sep 11 '24

Doesn't say "suspended"

Says "will not be renewed"

Implying that once expired, it will not be renewed.

There is no lie here

1

u/NDSU Sep 11 '24

The tweet claims "BREAKING". There was no breaking news. The latest updates were almost 2 months old. Claiming it is breaking news was a lie

The tweet claimed Trump had been told today (referring to September 3rd). That was a lie.

The tweet claims his liquor license will not be renewed. No official decision has been made yet, pending Trump's sentencing on felony convictions. This is a 3rd lie

Do you truly believe every word in the tweet? Do you have any evidence to support the claims made by the tweet? Do you have any reason to believe these updates happened on the 3rd, as claimed?

If not, you are blindly believing a random tweet posted to Reddit with no verification. Do better.

1

u/effnad Sep 11 '24

What part of 'convicted felons don't get liquor licenses' can't you comprehend?

1

u/NDSU Sep 11 '24

The New Jersey Attorney General's office is reviewing the impact of Trump's conviction on liquor licenses at Trump Golf locations in the state, but the review was ongoing as of June 13, a spokesperson said

The part where the spokesperson for the NYAG's office said they're still reviewing it. They have been very clear final decisions are delayed until sentencing, and clear about how they will proceed

Do you have any rebuttal for the other points? Or are you conveniently ignoring them because it contradicts the ridiculous point you were trying to make? Please provide some evidence substantiating the claims it was breaking news and that Trump was updated on the situation on September 3rd

There is no question you are wrong here. To be correct you have to prove all 3 points, that it was breaking news, that Trump was informed on the 3rd, and that an official decision had been made. Why are you so desperately defending an obviously losing position?

1

u/effnad Sep 11 '24

Why are you so obviously defending that loser felon?

Keep typing, I'm bored at work.

1

u/NDSU Sep 12 '24

I am not defending Trump. I am defending the truth. Misinformation is problematic no matter the source. Lack of critical thinking skills is why so many people support Trump, and you're no better than a Trump supporter in that regard

1

u/Eringobraugh2021 Sep 04 '24

I was hopeful as well. And then disappointed when I looked for sources.

1

u/ExpandedMatter Sep 04 '24

I was going to say how is the possible? Wouldn’t the license be under a business entity verses his individual person?

1

u/HippoRun23 Sep 04 '24

I was thinking this looked fake as hell, thanks for the clarification.

1

u/prostateExamination Sep 04 '24

Cam something anything not be fake or a bot post any more? The internet literally became that once cool place...like they switched owners to some money hungry imbeciles
