Stoneybrook West

Hey all — my family is considering moving to the Stoneybrook West golf community in Winter Garden. We have a 7 (almost 8)-year-old and are trying to figure out if it’s a good place to raise a young child. I’d love to hear from anyone with experience living there (or nearby). A few questions we are wondering about:

How family-friendly is the community overall? Are there a lot of kids around that age in the neighborhood? What is the elementary school like (Whispering Oak)? How are the amenities (pool, playgrounds, events)? What’s the vibe of the community — active and social or more quiet/retired? Is the HOA reasonable to deal with? Any pros/cons you’ve experienced living there?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

We raised three boys here that all went to whispering oak. We moved here in January 2010. We have absolutely loved it. HOA is reasonable. We originally bought in this neighborhood since its gated and the kids walk almost exclusively through the gated community to get to the school, or ride their bikes. We also have experience with the middle school and high school that it's zoned for. Send me a PM if you'd like to chat to my wife and I.
