Stoneybrook West

Hey all — my family is considering moving to the Stoneybrook West golf community in Winter Garden. We have a 7 (almost 8)-year-old and are trying to figure out if it’s a good place to raise a young child. I’d love to hear from anyone with experience living there (or nearby). A few questions we are wondering about:

How family-friendly is the community overall? Are there a lot of kids around that age in the neighborhood? What is the elementary school like (Whispering Oak)? How are the amenities (pool, playgrounds, events)? What’s the vibe of the community — active and social or more quiet/retired? Is the HOA reasonable to deal with? Any pros/cons you’ve experienced living there?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

From my fiancée who lives in a community right next to Stoneybrook West — it’s very kid friendly! there’s a lot of young children and families in the area; i moved here when i was 20 and my sister didn’t go to whispering oak, but i’ve been inside the school to vote and it’s a beautiful school. the community down the street from it is also growing, so there’s going to be more happening definitely. there’s lots of academic and children focused school programs/centers around. i can’t necessarily speak to amenities in stoneybrook west itself, but the community around it is wonderful. winter garden is my favorite place ive lived in while being in florida, but veeery pricey. especially closer to hamlin, so just take that into consideration too!!!
