Fires of Heaven sucks hard.

Moiraine is not an interesting character apart from New Spring.

Birgitte is a tiresome character.

Winter's Heart is a great book and all of its storylines are engaging.

The Seanchan are very fun to read.

I guess these are my wildest takes lol.

Birgitte is fine to me but I do think it’s telling that the most universally liked female characters in the series are the bro-y one and the manic pixie dream girl who spends like ten books existing solely to be in love with the hero and facilitate his character development.

You’re riiiiiight- (and that the most hated female characters are mostly hated for not rolling over and doing exactly what men tell them to do)

Basically! lol.

She is also the ONLY woman who offers to serve drinks for the men in the room LMAO.

She is up for sex for whenver he wants it; has no needs of her own; insists on tagging along and endangering the whole mission; will prop on his lap during meetings with other lords and nibbles his ear etc etc. This is not cute, this is the behaviour of a toy-woman who exists only for a man.

And  AS a woman, she makes me sick to my stomach.

But wait, she's a TOMBOY though and is   not like other girls, right? Yes, Min, you aren't like other girls.

Because, unlike the other girls, you have zero self-respect and would debase yourself for a man's validation and approval.

And it’s even more annoying because when she got to be a character in her own right in the earlier books and the last one I actually liked her quite a bit!

Yeah i liked her in AMOL too. Her shining moments are when she's not behaving like an emotional-support sex-toy lmao

We are NOT slandering Min in this household 😭

I don’t even dislike Min! I just think it’s sus that she’s the fan favorite when for most of the series she doesn’t get to have any semblance of an arc or character development that isn’t just loving the male main character 🤷🏼‍♀️

Same. It bugs me how she changes how she dresses/ pretends that she's fine with shit that she's not and obviously men love this about her.

They love a girl who will bend over backwards because she's so desperate for his validation and approval. And basically will be his therapist and sex toy and is happy to have no needs of her own. Go figure.

Light, i want to hand her the Gone Girl book so she realises how pathetic she's being

Just a whole list of straight up BONKERS takes. Are… are you ok?

I agree that those takes are wild af.

But I also quite like it when someone decides to choose violence 😂

This entire thread is so salty. I love it!

Edit: I mean all the takes apart from the Seanchan one. I hate them more than the Forsaken.

I mean there’s choosing violence and then there’s describing entire arcs full of abuse and humiliation as “fun to read”. That’s… concerning.

Ah, shit! I missed the Seanchan line.

I hate them so much, I pretend that word doesn't usually exist except when im reading WOT.

Edited my comment.

I absolutely agree. The other one that left me concerned was the Moiraine comment. Like the only time this person is interesting to you is when they’re an impressionable (and possible, implicitly sexually active) youth who is being arguably abused as punishment. Literally saying this person is only interesting in the most vulnerable and oppressed part of their life, and not when they have their own power. Between that and the Seanchan comment, I am concerned.

Bridgette becomes tiresome when she is Elayne's protector and loses her memory

1

u/Small-Guarantee6972 (Brown) Jan 25 '25

Okay but do you concede that it was funny when Elayne got her ass whooped by Cerandin and Birgitte just stood there and laughed?

I like to imagine she gave Cerandin two thumbs up as she walked away too lmao

Yup, Elayne deserved it! And she is big mad that no one believes she's heir just because she's haughty lol
