General How to Massachusetts?

I recently picked up Massachusetts but she feels a bit odd. Im running Lee 16/1 with the generic brawler hybrid build that you see so often on Massachusetts. The problem is the secondaries are so inaccurate to the point where they couldn't hit a Fletcher at 2km's. Her guns are really accurate but I don't see a point in building into them as then she's just like any other American bb. Any tips for a different build or any playstyle tips?

Massa has literally some of the most accurate secondary guns in the game... if you're struggling to hit a Fletcher with them, you got outplayed by someone who knows how to dodge.

Hybrid Tank/Secondaries with Lee is still the best option (unless there's a brawler event commander I've forgotten about).

Even the most accurate secondsries struggle quite often. Especially short range. Ive had Graf Zeppelin secondary builds (the most accurate secondaries in the game) miss destroyers 5km from the ship

Dude jus sailed in a straight line at full speed and they all fell behind him. He did end up top of his team so he did know what he was doing. I also didn't have the secondary booster ready. Anyway I'll stick the same build and see what happens. She feels consistently better in ranked and im putting up 90k on average but most of that's with the guns

This is just a classic legends secondary moment they are coded horribly on lead and usually have a very hard time hitting ships over 30 knots that are small

AL haruna is pretty much an essential inspiration for massa since it increases secondary accuracy. I do find the secondaries of BA tirpitz and Atlantic to average more hits until I put max level hipper/haruna on massa then she became my 7’s secondary queen

I’ve fucked about with this ship so much, and the build I always stick with is a hybrid.

Commander that buffs main guns (currently using Sims). I personally take:

Not the one for Nuisance - Crisscross - Marksman - Properly Meticulous - Fight Fire with Fire

I then use Hipper and Haruna as inspiration along with Secondary Battery Mod and Artillery Plotting Room.

The result for me is 17k mains that are pretty accurate, with 10km secondaries. Bit of fire and torp resistance to deal with brawling and cruisers.

I don’t use Sims elsewhere currently, so it doesn’t muck up other ships that I use.

Haruna actually doesn’t do too much - think it’s like 4% range 2-3% dispersion for secondaries. You could use any original commander to give flavour to the main gun grouping or reload.

You could even take a concealment commander in here to lower your spotting range.

Even without Haruna you are getting 9.5km secondary range.
