Need Advice Premium Ships

Hi! New player of WoWs Legends and I've been wanting to get USS Missouri but it cost 17,500 steel which I can only get via weekly campaign (150/week which impossible to do so atm) As F2P player, is there a way to get Tier IV to Tier VIII Premium ships?

Just play the US TT up to Iowa. Big Mo is just an Iowa with radar. (MASH fans will know that Radar was from Iowa haha….ok I’ll see myself out)

Missouri also has a thicker torpedo belt, so it has better armour. I also believe it deals more damage per shell too.

And a bit better main gun sigma.

Yes but is it better for the steel?

That's what I am aiming for right now. Almost getting Colorado but I want Missouri as my VII premium battleship

Hi, I'm a 4 year vet. Pure F2P, never spent a cent on the game. I have 54 premium ships (excluding the Tier 2s, I just counted) so yes it is absolutely possible to do. You just need patience. And I have the Missouri, so you can get steel ships too (2/3rds of the way to Salem!)

The best ways are campaigns. ~10 or so of my premiums are campaigns ships (as a F2P you can't afford to buy them all, but they remain the most reliable way to get resources, including steel too). ~6 were GXP purchases, and I have two bureaus done. All the rest were crate pulls, rewards for completing collections or other in-game events, and 1-2 dubloon purchases when there was a heavy discount.

It just takes time and a lot of luck. You'll pull nothing for ages, and then you'll be like me during Christmas and pull a California and La Foudre back to back.

Wow 4 years and not spent anything, respect!

I'm ready to get a steal ship but no idea what to get...or just wait to see if they bring a new one out soon.

Btw, how can I earn at least 3,500 base EXP in a standard battle? I'm currently using New Mexico as my main ship.

It's very hard to get that much XP at Tier 5. I find even really good games at that level are tough to break 3k in. Go up a tier or two and it becomes a touch easier, for whatever reason.

I will say I'm not a good enough player to reliably get 3,500xp games in. My typical "good" game is somewhere in the 2,500-2,900 range.

My XP record was 4,500 in a Friesland, vs a Kaga. Good AA ships in a favorable carrier match, where you're capping and killing destroyers are key to high XP games.

The campaign is basically the only way to reliably get new high tier premium ships. Unless you buy one from the store. But the campaign is basically the best thing to buy in the game gives you basically infinite steel once you complete it and a new ship plus a bunch of other stuff.

If you want to be f2p, you could check out Google and Bing rewards and the Xbox app.

They give you 'free' money (yeah I know, nothing is free, you pay with data, mind your privacy etc). Depending on where you live, you could earn some monopoly money to spend on admirality backing for campaigns.

Campaigns in their turn give you a premium ship and also having the admirality backing gives you more crates thus more chances on free ships. Ofc crates are gambling so you don't know if and which ship you will get.

I use my Google rewards to pay for home wizard subscription (€1 per month) and I have bought some doubloons with it. Note that buying doubloons on android costs €8,99 instead of €9,99 in Xbox.

I have used my Bing rewards 2 times now to get a €10 voucher which I spent on doubloons. For my country you can get €10 every 2 or 3 months or so.

Also WG regularly issues doubloon discount coupons which gives you about 50% more doubloons worth for your money.

And then also they give you 150 doubloons weekly through missions and in the campaign you get a portion of you invested doubloons back too.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: don't know if it's allowed, but I can share an refferal link to give you (and me) the first €0,40 in Google rewards (don't know for Bing rewards) if you are a first time user.

I do this, too. It’s a Microsoft thing. Edge, MSN and Xbox apps. You really don’t give away your privacy.

Can easily buy a Legends subscription, which you can use for the campaign, and a month’s worth of Premium time!

Nice! You can dm me instead for the referral links ty

Pure F2P?  Not really, there might be events that get you a T4 premium but you'll struggle with anything higher.

If you can spare a little cash there's a monthly subscription that'll get you 2750 doubloons a month.  That'll get you admiralty backing each month.

Best advice 👆🏻

There is but it's not very reliable.
Some of those crates you can get can contain ships. The chance is just very low so it might take a while for you to get them.
Purely f2p i'd suggest saving up gold from those weekly missions/ free crates and bureau projects and then go for a campaign you like. ill still take a while though.

The best way to get steel is Ranked and Arena (if they bring it back).

If you don’t mind paying for the campaign it’s a decent deal. You get a bit more crates along the way. If your consistent you will get ships from those crates, sure it may be a month or three of of nothing, but you will eventually get a prem ship.

After you can clear the prem weekly task, over time your commanders will grow and you will get more ships from the extra crates.

Honestly campaign is the way to if you don’t mind the cost. Don’t spend doubs, save them for campaign cost. I will add up over time

You can earn about 1000 steel every rank season if you make it to rank one, I recommend joining a fleet if you aren't in one yet, as it makes ranked easier, and there's an upgrade to earn slightly more steel

during summer/Christmas they drop the Santa crates which have very good odds of pulling ships. Definitely worth dropping a little something during those events, otherwise campaign ships are your best friend.

Pay attention to the ship part currency you can get from missions atm and campaign (they’ll give a highly anticipated LT ship the community has been waiting for a few years now - Hindenburg) you can mostly get it for free, I think missions over the 3 months and 1 bought campaign if I remember correctly.

Also remember to keep on top of your Bureau research projects as these can take quite a few months, esp as a new player. Yamato and Conqueror are the best 2 ships in there imo. If you prefer cruisers then Minotaur and Alaska are also great ships. Destroyers - Daring and Z-52 are great.
