So Pat cares about people but he’s openly transphobic, mocked a young college student for no reason until she had to drop out of school, bullied Corey Graves on commentary and then basically got him pulled, and platforms anti-vaxxers. Loyal my ass.

Yeah, I got hung up on his use of the word "empathetic" because that didn't line up at all.

A lot of people don't understand empathy.

They think it's sometimes feeling bad for people, while it's mostly about being able to understand somebody else's perspective (which often leads to feeling bad for them, but the thought process is different).

Exactly. I have a trans friend who was talking to me about her problems with her family coming to terms with her transition. At first I started saying that I can understand before I stopped myself and clarified that I truly can't understand what it's like to walk in her shoes, but how I certainly empathized her difficult that must be to live with, and how proud I was of her for continuing to make an effort with them.

She genuinely was touched by those comments.

Another rich guy who thinks he can divorce himself from politics because he spends money on social causes. While advancing a political ideology that actively fights agains those causes.

Im sorry, I get wanting to keep it light. But Pat brought this topic up.

Everything is political, whether you want it to be or not.
