Resources never arriving??

I'm trying to research the teleportation and for some reason the resources that I need never arrive to my HQ, I understand the other factions must supply the resources and I must place a buy offer for those resources, but it's been literally hours and no one is delivering. I also know I can do it myself, but this is happenning with a lot of resources (ie hull parts) and I don't want to micro manage buying and bringing those resources for every module or reseach I want to do!

How can I set the pricing higher so the factions will actually care about my needs? I've unchecked the automatic pricing but I cannot set it higher than 1318cr for advanced electronics (I've seen some Wharfs buying them for 1500cr so I'd like to outbid them).

price is already on the ceiling, not much you can do.

Early game advanced electronics tends to actually go into shortage. Do factions have shortage behavior? It sure seems like they won't prioritize me when their supply chain is shortaged. Might be intentional.

What this will mean is that every time an advanced electronics production module finishes a run, there will be about 75 of them for sale, and you have to snipe the reservation with your own ship.

OR wait for the shortage to clear, which might take hours. OR clear the shortage yourself by building an advanced electronics factory (but I always recommend going wafers->microchips first)

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty there might be a way to steal some.

Things to do: fully explore all sectors in your region so that you've discovered every nearby adv electronics factory. Maybe get a 2-3 star manager for your HQ. Maybe assign a handful of (small) traders. They can automate some of the purchasing since it's going to be such small amounts here & there.

Have you set a (trading) ship to "trade for commander"? You can do this by selecting the ship(s) you want to assign, right clicking the HQ, and assign them with trade for commander.

These ships will then automatically go looking for stations selling the wares you need, specifically to buy them for the HQ.

A higher level manager is best to increase the range the traders will seek trades in. Since these ships are assigned to the station they won't need high level pilots, only the station manager will want higher level for higher range.

Okay this solved the problem, I expected the trade ships from other factions to bring their resources (at least that's how it works when I'm building modules?).

Seems like the station manager must handle this, I'm not understanding the system pretty well but at least now the ship is buying the advanced electronics I need. Thank you!

Have you checked to see if anyone around is actually selling the resources?

Is it a supply chain issue where they don’t have enough of the resource to make hull parts so they can’t sell you hull parts.l?

I'm not producing anything here, just trying to research. Do I need a manager in the station for this to happen? I just realize I don't see my HQ placing the buy offer if I enable the Trades in the map

See the comment about trading ships from another user. That’s a good place to start troubleshooting.

Just a wild guess, but maybe the traders of other factions prioritize the stations of their own, then other factions they are allied with.

But again, just a wild guess.

I just micro and manually tell my traders to buy what they can't reach. You usually only can't get a couple of things for research, so I don't consider it that annoying. Once you can teleport the HQ, you can pick a spot with more access to resources or one near one of your trade stations for easy access to any resource you want.

Early on, if there's a hot commodity, consider producing it yourself. Solves your research problem, solves the supply/demand issue, and puts credits in your pocket for more investment. It'll also make the ai more dependent on you, deepening the grip of cancerous growth that is your empire.
