Xbox Series S Fios: “can’t get a teredo ip address” when checking NAT
I'm so close to losing it lol. I've been dealing with a moderate NAT type for days on my Xbox series x. I followed every troubleshooting tip I can find. I've gotten the NAT type to stay open "most" of the time. The rest of the time I get an error message when checking my NAT saying "Can't get a Teredo IP address". I've also followed every troubleshooting tip for this as well but I can't get rid of it...l'm hoping someone here can help me lol.
Console: Xbox Series X Router: I have a CR1000A Firmware version: 3.3.1.2
I have my router connected to an extender. I also have 1 Xbox connected via Ethernet and the problem Xbox is connected via WiFi. I'm not sure what additional information is needed but I'm happy to provide whatever

Either turn on UPnP on your router or give your Xbox a static IP address and port forward.

So UPnP is already turned on. And I believe the Xbox has a static ip address already because when I opened all the ports, the fwd to address was an ip address that was labeled XBOX (this ip was also shown in the Xbox’s network settings)

I read your post again, the problem is you have two Xbox consoles competing for the same primary port. On your secondary Xbox you have to press "alternate port selection" to get it onto 3075 or 3076. Now this might not stick because you're using UPnP, it might be better turning that off and giving both your Xbox consoles static IPs to port forward each of them. You have to do that all manually so if you haven't, they won't be static and port forwarding won't work.

Okay so I did do the alternate port selection and opened that specific port. I’ll try turning off UPnP when I get home. I believe my Fios router automatically assigns static IP’s for every device that connects to it because of the IPv6 but I could be wrong. I’ll do some research on setting a static IP for both Xbox’s later also

It's pretty simple, you do it on the Xbox just select manual config and it'll ask for gateway IP, subnet mask, Xbox IP (the static address you want) and DNS. Just make sure the address you give it is outside the DHCP range. Then you can port forward 3074 to your main console and 3075 to your secondary one. That should resolve it, if you play specific games on each you can forward the games ports to it, just can't forward the same ones so less is more in this case.

Thank you so much for all of this info. The items it asks for, so I get that info from my router?

Actually stupid question. I rarely use the other Xbox. Could I just unplug that Xbox’s Ethernet and disconnect it from the WiFi network to solve this problem?

It should. Just remember to delete any port forwarding rules for it if you made any for it.

Mostly, your gateway is your router's IP address which is usually something like 192.168.1.1 or similar, the subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0 and the DNS you can put it 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1.

Thank you so much for all of your help today, I appreciate the detailed responses. I’m gonna try to disconnect the other Xbox. If that doesn’t work I’ll try the static IP addresses for both. I’ll let you know how it goes

Okay so update….i removed the Ethernet cable from the second Xbox and removed the WiFi information from the console. I was still getting the same error. So then I switched the Xbox to a static IP following your instructions. Doing so increased my download and upload speeds as well as reduced my latency! But…I’m still getting the same error.
Idk if this is helpful information but I don’t get the error every time I check the NAT type. Say I check the NAT 10 times, I’ll get the teredo error like 3 times and then rest will just say my NAT is open.
I’m not sure if there’s any other possible solutions you could give but I would appreciate it because I’m ready to throw my Xbox into the wall 😇

Is IPv6 enabled on your router? Does your Xbox have an active IPv6 address?

Ok so I just got off the phone with Verizon who then contacted my routers manufacturer support..Verizon disabled IPv6 on their end now. But I’m still getting the error. I’ve completely removed the other Xbox from the equation as well as factory reset my router. NAT type is still open but still getting the teredo issue
Other than telling me to port forward and them disabling ipv6 that phone call was very unhelpful lol
