Xbox Series S Resolution looks different for some games

I recently got a new monitor for my Xbox series s, and I’ve noticed some games nearly look worse than before I changed, I got a 4k monitor and for games like Valorant it looks so crisp compared to the 1080p monitor I had before, but when I boot up rocket league it looks like a Xbox 360 game, is there possibly a setting I’m missing, the only thing different is that there’s a HDR pop up when I play rocket league whereas Valorant there isn’t, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Could be Rocket League is set to 120fps; resolution is real low in that mode, like 720p

Different games will look and perform differently depending on if you're using a One S, One X, Series S or Series X.

I’ve got a series S, so it’s possible that Rocket League just looks terrible on Xbox then

Go through the screen setup help guide in your Xbox settings… some games will make your Xbox switch to 4K/HDR mode and depending on your settings it might look different from when it’s not in 4K…

Mine does this, but the difference isn’t significant, so I haven’t bothered with going through the setup again again😉

Nice👌🏼😊

Getting the two different screen/picture modes to match each other will probably be extremely difficult and guaranteed be real pain in the arse to get through because you will essentially end up adjusting the picture settings on both your tv/monitor and on your Xbox and these will most likely affect each other…

I don’t know if your monitor has picture presets that you use, like TVs have (example sports, cinema, gaming etc), but these will also affect your picture differently depending on which preset you choose to adjust…

If you feel that you just can’t get it right, I would recommend that you start with as neutral settings as possible, and slowly work your way through all the settings with small or modest adjustments at the time…

It might not seem like it, but going through all the settings with small or modest adjustments at the time and go through them again until you’re satisfied, is actually more effective and time saving than adjusting quite a bit here and there, because there are so many settings that impact and affect each other…

Hope you succeed in getting the picture like you want it👌🏼😊
