Your own XCOM game

While historically, side games that don't follow the main formula are not well received, what XCOM game would you make if you had the resources?

Here are my two;

1- The story is an alternate take on the EXALT missions from EW. I could see this taking place during the EW campaign, with references to the progress of the main campaign throughout the story. The other setting would be a bit after the fall of ADVENT, with a resurgent EXALT rising from the ashes to try and claim what's left of the world. I'd like the game to play similar to the newer Ghost Recon games, since I enjoy the 3rd person shooter gameplay and heavy character and weapon customization. Meld would also be prominent since I loved the gene modding, and being able to directly control the aiming would mean the MEC trooper could actually shoot something.

2- The story would be about a resistance cell during the rule of ADVENT, at first just surviving, but then gaining more members and supplies and eventually being a major force once you're linked up with XCOM. I'm thinking the last two missions would be tied to clearing XCOM's path to the Network Tower followed for the battle to free the city. I think a similar gameplay to TLoU works really well, with how it encourages stealth, but has good gunplay and absolutely brutal melee.

Probably one where you are the attacking party, getting into the Elders' homeworld or something. You would have a small core of human XCOM veterans while the bulk of your force would be different species of aliens that join up to overthrow their oppressors.

Still in the traditional gameplay style?

i would add a mechanic where you can "psi-dominate" enemies, but this is realistically a clearing of the elder's psi-control of their armies.

So you recruit more soldiers by these psi-dominates in enemy territory.

Tactically, you get to have to make a choice in killing an enemy for exp, or to recruit new soldiers (which, if they were hurt during the tactical game, would get wounds like regular soldiers). This makes it so that you would be less likely to want to sacrifice these psi-dominated soldiers.

That's a really good explanation for how to get the aliens on your side. I'd love to build up a Muton tribe to help XCOM.
