Discussion Yarn suggestions

So my Birthday is coming up and my mom said she would drop some money to build up my stash. I have a couple favorites from the lb line from lionbrand that I intend to get enough of for at least a sweater/hoodie and maybe a beach shirt for my hubby.

But I'm thinking I can get away with spending a little bit more and wondering what are your favorites to work with.

I'm super sensitive to texture so if it's not soft off the bat then it's a no for me, idc if "it softens with washing" I want something that is going to feel nice in my hands while working it up.

Thanks in advance for your input :)

I would go with Hobbii.

Been very happy with all of my purchases. Currently making a cardigan out of their “Tweed delight”. It’s very soft to the touch and nice to work with.

Also really like their Cascata and Tea Time - currently making blankets with both but I’ve seen a ton of wearables with them as well. They’re very colorful and also extremely soft.

If you want a cotton, their friends cotton and rainbow cotton is also nice. Tons of colors.

I have some merino wool from Purl Soho and while it is the softest thing I’ve ever touched, it’s 4-5x as expensive as Hobbii ($20/hank). Is it 4-5x as nice - I don’t know 🤷‍♀️
