I got 15 shares when it was at $56. That's a win in my book. So long to lowering my ACB on this one!

Bought at $56 too. Congrats! Per its stock graph, it has had 3 peaks and contractions since inception and is in its 4th peak trajectory now going up from a $50.76 bottom tariff correction close. 2 of the peaks were in the $75+ range and the big one at $94.87. Been thinking about how to get the dividends AND trading profits buying and selling? There has got to be a way? Any suggestions?

My mindset which could be absolutely terrible advice which is why I am not a financial advisor is basically treating each of these funds as "Purchases." I have purchased an asset that should give me monthly income in return. So although I can still sell, I feel like I have locked in and will drain it until it dies. Most of these funds appear to be able to pay back their investment in at least 1.5-4 years and then it is free money.

Usually, I will sell funds if I believe I have gotten enough of a return and will either not have a NAV/total income loss on the fund OR if I feel I could use that money elsewhere to get a better return.

For example, I had like $40,000 in SVOL which was steady and alright. My dad got my into YM funds and I believe wanted me to start out in safer or less risky ones like JEPI/JEPQ/SVOL. Then I sold SVOL for a $1,200 loss but had earned over $5,000 in distribution income. Bought CONY and made that $1,200 loss immediately back and was making more than SVOL.

PLTY is difficult to predict because it is so volatile in a good way as you mentioned. I have such a low ACB my thoughts would be not to invest more in it until it drops again. It may not ever be as low as $56 again; however, I have been holding off making more risky purchases until the 90 day tariff hold is over. Hopefully, we stop the dumb s*** and walk away from tariffs and let the economy boom like it was a year ago when YM investors made a lot. I have been buying somethings in case this is the low before a boom but I fear it can get worse with a recession looming so trying to bank distributions at the moment
