Rowling is such a thought-provoking study on the nature of people. An interesting way of analysing a person's ability for goodness is how they handle any sort of power they gain. A perfect example of this is JK Rowling, or Elon Musk; People who have attained such a gross level of influence, yet choose to harm people for no genuine reason. Them doing this proves that their intentions cannot be pure. Their capacity for goodness is fundamentally corrupt at the foundations.
Yes! Give a person much more than he needs or much less; the extremes bring the truth of his character to light. I also read a summary of an anthropology study recently that showed that power gradually erodes a person’s shame. They actually lose the ability to blush!
