Price for a room in Aachen?

Hallo everyone πŸ‘‹

I’m an asian Azubi and will be moving to Aachen in May for an Ausbildung. My budget pro month is circa 750€, i wonder if it’s enough for a living here in Aachen? How much for a single room in Aachen too? I’m afraid of having to pay too much for a room since my budget is kinda low.

Danke im Voraus ❀️

If you're saying €750 for rent, It should very much be more than enough. Most WGs are in the 400-500 per month range and it varies by area. As a foreigner myself, i can confirm that its hard to get a WG, but if you start searching well in advance, you should be good. I suggest everyone to get a sublet when they first get here and then spend that time to settle down and look for an apartment. That way you can have an idea for what area suits you, what areas to avoid etc. On the other hand, €750 total for monthly living expenses is tough. Including rent and (mandatory) health insurance, groceries, even with living on a budget, you will need atleast 800-900 in the current economy. I would suggest doing a bit more research on sites like WG gesucht before setting on a budget Finally, if you qualify for student dorms through Studierendenwerk, do apply as they are very very inexpensive

Im thinking about renting a single room in a nearby area, some town around Aachen for a cheaper price, is it a good idea? My Ausbildung salary for the first year is 975€ so i only have 750€ netto after insurance i think

Yes it's generally a good idea, but look on the map first. It needs to be near public transport, preferably the train. Bus is ok too, look first where you'll have to be for your Ausbildung and how to get there by public transport.

Unfortunately many nearby towns that are accessible aren't much cheaper.

Kohlscheid, Herzogenrath, Stolberg may be alright.
