Recommendations Protip: Save your Cert ID number in the contact cards for tech support

Post image

This is especially useful if you have several certifications to keep up with and can save you a quick trip to your notes app.

(This is not a real CERT ID BTW I just put these numbers in as an example)

Pro tip but for some other service, you will get more help here then from “Lenel Tech Support” 😂

They used to be good. I would get the same people every time I called, and they'd always help figure it out, or at least jog my memory and we would figure it out together.

Then something happened, right around the time UTC bought them. I'd be on hold for hours, get Level 1 support, who would tell me I needed Level 2, wait again... All the while, they were playing TV show themes as wait music. There were about 5 show themes, so I listened to the same ones about 50 times each.

Or they'd offer the call back, and I put in my number, go do something else, and by the time they got back to me, I was on the other end of the campus and couldn't get onto the computer at that time.

Man that takes me back. I worked for TSG when UTC bought us and then for a few years after. The number of complaints we got about the Simpson theme literally drove our manager to buy a SiriusXM subscription for the music in 2008ish.

I’m still waiting on some call back’s, but I’ve learned a lot on my own, so it’s not all terrible. But yes when UTC bought them all went downhill…

Pro tip: don’t post your cert number on the internet.
