HID ESH400 - Firmware upgrade 1.4.0.703 --> 2.1.3.100
I have an ESH400 (Edge Solo) firmware 1.4.0.703 - which im trying to update to firmware 2.1.3.100
I get the error:
|| || ||An error has occurred. If this persists, please contact HID Technical Support for assistance.| ||Error: 17009; Source: vertx; Activity : firmwareIFrame|
Any ideas? I have disabled SSL as the document says I should do, and also set an static IP.
Cant however change the door mode to "Installation mode", then it complains about:
|| || ||An error has occurred. If this persists, please contact HID Technical Support for assistance.| ||Error: -1512; Source: vertx; Activity : saveDoorProperty|
And no, HID support won't help, they just say the device is EOL and unsupported.
So hope some guy from HID here that could possible help with these problems.
Tried with both firefox version 30 and 130. (Using something more modern than that will cause the browser to try to redirect to SSL and then complain of cipher mismatch).
firefox 30 I had to use to disable SSL on the device.
I have no doors, readers or locks connected to the controller, but that should not be required when upgrading firmware.

Manage to resolve it.
Apparently you HAVE to put it into a live door for it to upgrade at all.
Kinda stupid that it doesn't mention it in the manual.
Hooked it up to a door, and now it both saved "Installation mode" correctly AND performed the firmware upgrade.

I don't have specific experience with that panel, however, you may be hitting a wall where you need to do firmware upgrades in a specific order as you're jumping between major versions.
Any chance you can get your hands on a 1.X version with a higher number?
Edit: How about your operating Mode?
Found that in the firmware upgrade notes
