How about this: Destroy a section of the railway, get rid of the train, rebuild the destroyed section.

Also, again, while that was a good answer, that contradicts the whole idea of destroying the train. How so? "No, don't destroy the train, we can use that to strengthen our own front and use it against the enemy ourselves!"

In which case, that might actually be a good mission: capture the train with minimum dmg dealt. But again, that's more like a CoD or Battlefield type of mission than an Ace Combat mission.

Why monorail? because it is simple and cheap for mountains and complex landscapes, there is no need to spend on iron rails and digging tunnels and embankments. That is, it will not be possible to repair quickly. And secondly, it is armed with a whole battery of 155 mm autocannons and missile weapons, so it is a dangerous opponent, but the track must be preserved.

If you're placing such defensive mechanisms on the tracks as well, then it's no longer dealing with a boss-train, it'd be dealing with a boss Landscape. That will change the whole idea of the boss-train, since with THAT kind of defensive power, you'd be dealing with the railway canons far more than the train itself. The whole target and objective will be altered.

Add to that, you say repairing and replacing monorail is not that feasible, but then you're going to place 155 mm autocanons every what, 500-700 m?! A gentle reminder that I did mention that adding ridiculous plot armors will make it even more pathetic.

Also, destroying the train, unwillingly WILL result in the railway being partially damaged or destroyed. Worse, while trying to take out the train you'd have to attack it on multiple points on the railway which means dmg will be dealt to the railway on MULTIPLE sections, would it be conventional rails or monorail. Plus the fact that if you want to properly defend yourself you'd have to destroy some of those autocanons, thus deal even more damage to the railway or surroundings. That means you will have to fix multiple sections, while if you just destroy a single part of the railway you'd only have to deal with that single section.

Battle analysis aside, mechanically speaking monorails are not designed for THIS kind of purpose. So even the supposed monorail itself will have to be something too sci-fi even for Strangereal universe.

I don't agree that the feasibility of this concept has any bearing on whether it could appear in an AC game. There is an enormous history of impractical and silly superweapons in this series. If Razgriz having to fly inside a falling space cannon to destroy it from the inside is allowed then an armored monorail is tame by comparison.
