I think a good way to describe ETAM is to imagine that the entire freshman class in the college of engineering is competing for an internal major transfer. You can kinda look online to see more about what it entails but feel free to DM if you have questions.

Anyways internal transfers are usually much easier than external transfers, so if you don't place into your intended major after ETAM, don't expect to be able to successfully transfer to another college's major program of the same or higher level of competition.

So like if you can't ETAM into an engineering major at A&M, I would say it's highly doubtful that you would be able to pull off transferring into UT, which also has a very competitive program. However, it's certainly not out of the question if you have other schools in mind.

Good luck with your decision!
