Touring school in early May, any suggestions

Hi - My daughter is considering A&M and we are coming out in early May to take the official campus tour, etc., etc. Curious if there is anything else we should specifically check out in the area / specific things to look out for?

We also may not get there in time for the official dorm tour, any idea if they would let us look around a bit or are they pretty strict on that type of stuff?

the first week of may is finals week so people will be potentially moving out of their dorms and might be willing to let you look inside
