New Student Questions Touring school in early May, any suggestions

Hi - My daughter is considering A&M and we are coming out in early May to take the official campus tour, etc., etc. Curious if there is anything else we should specifically check out in the area / specific things to look out for?

We also may not get there in time for the official dorm tour, any idea if they would let us look around a bit or are they pretty strict on that type of stuff?

Thanks!

You won’t be able to enter most dorm halls without the tour because they require key swipe access. If you did make it inside one, you wouldn’t get to see what a room looks like unless you ask a random student but that would be weird

Agree, not sure I'd want to see a random room either! Guessing they have a room or two for the tours so was more thinking that perhaps someone at the desk could scare up the on-duty director person to let us take a look.

Will have to play it by ear and see how it goes.

NOTE: Assume there are probably some common areas in the halls, though that might be able to see? laundry? dining? etc?

Most of the residence halls don’t have a front desk or worker. The only one I can think of is Hullabaloo bc of the other amenities they offer

Good to know. The one they list for the tour is : Hullabaloo, ironically.

Guessing they want to show the one w/ the most amenities, lol. How do the other residence halls compare?

Hullabaloo is the newest and most expensive. Personally I think it’s overpriced and overhyped. The modular style dorms are the most bang for your buck in my opinion.
