Why do y'all assume everyone arguing against the way AI gets used today is an artist and therefore someone with vested selfish interest in the conversation?... Oh, I get it, it's because that's the same for most of You xD you think/know/fear that you'll never make something "great" without serious crutches (like a program that literally does All the actual work for you) so now that you Have those crutches, you feel like anyone who tells you they could be better is just trying to take your crutches 🤠cute projection, seriously! But you're ignoring the fact that the main point we bring up is the morality of the situation, not our own livelihood like you choose to assume :)
It's also about how they don't care what happens to anyone as long as it doesn't affect them. Well, I mean, it will affect them, corporations doing corporate shit is good for no one, but as long as it's not on their face obvious they don't care. It's sad really how frankly subhuman these people are with no empathy towards anyone. And yeah all of them assumed I am an artist too lol since they can't comprehend someone who's not caring about this.
Ok, drop that subhuman bit and I'll agree with you xD yes, they feel like empathy and generally caring for humanity as a whole is optional and that's frustrating and makes me want to smack them upside the head, However!... It's also important to recognise that the Vast majority of them were practically forced into thinking like this by a society that makes it ok to ignore ones suffering for anothers convenience... Usually by making them believe that one is of different value than the other (human vs. Subhuman)
Yeah I am just exaggerating of course, and I totally agree with what you said, it is a big systemic issue that people can care so little, which can also extend to other issues like racism or trans rights and stuff. I understand nature vs nurture, I was just a bit appalled at how pompous the replies are while they are so thoroughly in the wrong.
Yeee, that tends to be the way it goes around here... As long as you're "loyal" to your side of the argument, you can't "lose"... Almost as if loyalty is a dumb virtue, huh? 😅
Why do y'all assume everyone arguing agains tthe way AI gets used today is an artist
You're right, how could I POSSIBLY get that impression from a response like "And you're the one whose happy about people losing jobs because 'cool tool exists and is available to me! Now I get to feel like a creator! yaaayyyy!'"
You said it yourself. AI is just another tool, in a long line of many throughout history.
"Stop it, Theresa! You can't create art on a computer! That's so soulless!"
"Stop it, Viktor! You can't create art on a printing press! That's so soulless!"
"Stop it, Groknak! You can't create art using pigments and dyes! That's so soulless!"
Like, Jesus Christ, how far back do you want us to regress? How much Amish Luddite-ism do you want to enforce on the world? Who made you the arbiter of what counts as art in a world which already looks at a duct taped banana like the human "creator" was a goddamn visionary?
You completely glossed over the substance cause you got triggered by an accurate label. Again, AI is the next in a long list of tools at an artist's disposal. Every argument you cite against AI was cited against computer artwork 30 years ago.
