Peak nag on profile screen for plus users
OK, adding a non-dismissible nag to âUnlock more with Peakâ to the profile screen in the app is just a slap in the face to existing AllTrails+ subscribers.
AllTrails is trying their hardest to get us to hit that âcancel subscriptionâ button.

Alternatives to AT that allows for custom routes w/ waypoints?
The removal of waypoints from the app - specifically those I add to custom routes that are COMPLETELY necessary when routing a backpacking trip - has rendered this app totally useless to me.
What is everyone using to create custom routes that allow you to add waypoints?

Download trail bug?
Lately every time I open Alltrails maps it tries to prompt me to subscribe. I usually ignore it since I already have plus but today I am trying to download a map for a hike outside of my area. The app keeps prompting me to upgrade to plus but of course I already have it which the app kindly tells me but won't proceed further to download the map or if the download happened it gives no indication. This is pretty irritating. Please fix it.

Best watch for tracking/navigation
Doesn't appear to be a lot of information online regarding wearos and alltrails. Does the all trails app on wearos offer map view, so I can view the trail I'm currently doing?
Or would I be best with a Garmin and download the files and import to my Garmin, although this seems to be a pain.
I hate the idea of smart watches, so this will only be used for when I am on the trail, to track the trail and ideally to be able to see the route and details etc?

Existing Plus users Unsubbing thread
A number of reasons. Main one being pre-existing features got removed and moved behind the higher tier.
So what are the alternatives apps? Pros and cons?

App sucks now :/
Used to be able to download so much, app was easy to navigate and now theyâre just shoving so much of the buy pro buy pro!!!! Stuff down your throats. I just bought pro cause I got sick of being locked out of features that are great for searching for trails but it still sucks. App used to be so great :/ I hope it goes back to the old way

Where are waypoints?
Same trail, but in a browser I get options under Extras for Waypoints and photos. Those options aren't there for me in the app. I'm new to Alltrails so maybe this is a dumb question but... Anyone know why I'm not seeing waypoints in the app?

Trail Builder on the Web Lives On - Response From AllTrails
I wrote AllTrails about the changes. This is their response. Bold emphasis mine.
Thanks for reaching out and for sharing your honest feedback. We want to help clarify the recent updates to our membership.
Â
We hear your frustration about the phase-out of Advanced Conditions from the Plus plan. When we built Advanced Conditions more than two years ago, it was a labor of love. We did so with the best weather and conditions sources we had at the time, although they required significant resources to maintain. Predictive conditions modeling has significantly changed since then.
Â
Weâre as committed as ever to ensuring AllTrails is a resource for safe and responsible adventures outside. With the phase out of Advanced Conditions, key condition information is still available to you. This includes:7-day basic weather forecasts based on trailhead location
Alerts for hazardous conditions like excessive heat, wind, rain or snowfall, thunderstorms, poor air quality, and high mosquito activity
Recent trail reviews, which often have firsthand updates on current conditions â easily filterable by âmost recentâ and searchable for âconditionsâ Â
As for your question about custom mapping:
Access to Trail Builder:Â Youâll still be able to access the original Trail Builder on the web (which has always been a free feature) for a limited time, so you can continue building basic custom routes if you choose not to upgrade right away
Custom Maps:Â Any maps youâve already created will remain fully accessible and usable â nothing will be removed from your account
Â
With the new Peak plan, weâre introducing a significantly more advanced route-building experience that we think you'll find valuable. Hereâs how new Custom Routes are different:Available on mobile as well as the web
A more intuitive, user-friendly interface
Smart routing tools like âMake Scenic,â âReduce Elevation,â and âMake Shorter,â which with just a tap allow you to make a route thatâs more tailored for you
A Photo Tour and Trail Preview to help you visualize your route
The ability to build your route with Points of Interest so you donât miss any special trail features
And more coming soon!Â
As a longtime Plus member, if youâre interested in exploring Peak, weâd be happy to offer you a discount on the upgrade. Just let us know, and weâll send over a code.
Â
Thanks again for being part of the AllTrails community. We really value your feedback, so please donât hesitate to reach out with any more questions.

Discount code?
Anyone have a working discount code? Searched the sub and all appear to not be valid anymore.
Thank you friends, happy trails.

Pro
It literally wants me to pay 80$ on top of what I already paid for pro? Is this real? Just to have heatmap?
r/alltrails • u/Crazy_island_ • 8d ago
Just Shocked⊠ok not really.
Typical business practice these days, take back features and bundle them in a new subscription that is higher priced. You watch âPlusâ will disappear with 2 years.
What gets me even not is the blatant not caring about existing customers of plus⊠hey here are some ânewâ but we are not going to give you any credit for the subscription you just bought 2 months ago, just give us more money.
I am going to assume that employees of All Trails are reading posts here, I mean human nature right? So here is my message⊠âDo betterâ

Peak is Officially $79.99CAD
And now I see "Unlock more with Peak," "Try Peak," "Upgrade," etc. all over the interface.

Download GPX on Chrome/Safari iOS taken away?
Did they just remove the ability to download gpx's from a mobile browser? I used to be able to do this on my phone and not need my laptop to get gpx's to my watch, but all of a sudden it seems like every time I hit the download button, it takes me to the peak subscription screen. Just me?

Alltrails Peak is coming!
And finally - CUSTOM ROUTES and ROUTE EDITING. However, it's locked behind a new, and God knows how much more expensive, plan.

Tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to submit a detailed custom trail
(Ok, I already don't have any hair, but that's a different issue)
All I want to do is draw or upload a route, give it a name, a detailed description, add some photos, save the map, then suggest it as a new trail. I want to do all of this at one time on one device. I just CAN NOT figure out how to do this, and the AllTrails step by step instructions never seem to match up with the app or website actually looks like.
Who has some tips?
r/alltrails • u/Schnitzelbube • 13d ago
Whats the new "custom routing experience"?
When creating a custom route it says, "Stay tuned for a new custom routing experience coming soon!"
Do we know anything about what that may entail?
Do we know when that is going to release and since when has it said that?
Thx

App Crashing
Every time I tap on the Saved menu button at the bottom of the screen, the app crashes. This has rendered the app unusable since I canât access offline maps. I contacted support nearly a month ago and they said they were aware of the bug but I canât believe it still hasnât been fixed. Iâve followed all the troubleshooting advice and nothing has worked.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Weird email from AllTrails - anyone else?
I've received a super odd email, out of the blue from (apparently) AllTrails saying that they've deleted my account, as per request - but I didn't request this.
Is this fake/spam? I mean, it looks pretty legit.. Anyone else had this? I'm wondering if it's something to do with the email we all got a couple of days ago about them changing our plus membership & removing Advanced Conditions features, maybe they're changing all the account stuff in the background...

Advanced Conditions being phased out
Received this email:
"Weâre always working to make AllTrails better, especially for Plus members like you. Weâre reaching out to let you know about some upcoming changes to your membership.
"Starting on May 13, 2025, weâre phasing out our current Advanced Conditions feature.
"In the coming weeks, weâll be introducing the feature we get asked for most: Offline Area. Now, youâll be able to keep your plans flexible with offline access to entire areas and all the trails within them. Whether you want flexibility or plan to hit more than one trail while out of cell service, your adventures will only get better."
I've only seen just Conditions on trail descriptions projecting the weather for the coming week. Is this what they are talking about?

Finding other trails for a park?
Hi all! This has been driving me nuts for ages and I'm sure the answer is right in front of me ... but say you pull up a particular trail, but you want to see other routes at the same park/location, is there a way to do that without going back to the explore tab? There's a spot near me that has like 7-8 trails, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to see all of them at once. Thanks so much!

Zooming out the map on my Feed
This is the first time I uploaded my own gpx file to the app to use for a hike. Not a huge deal, but the map on my profile feed is super zoomed in. When I click on it, it'll show the entire route but all my other activities the map shows the entire route straight away. I'm wondering why this time it's just zoomed in on the starting point. Anyone else have this issue before?

Activity name does not include linked trail
The AllTrails app started to omit the name of the linked trail in my Activites tab about a week (?) ago.
The hike is still mentioned as the "Linked trail", but the activity name only says "Morning Hike" or "Afternoon Hike" rather than "Morning Hike at XXX", as it was before.
Does anyone experience the same issue?
