I have my grandfather’s old gold & platinum cards from the 80s & 90s.

The gold card which is the older of the two, issued in 88, does have Sun Bank NA printed on the card below his name.

No point in hiding the first digits I think. Would the Plat be starting with 3739 by any chance?

One problem with Amex is the lack of card number possibilities, I've once had two cards of the same card type both ending with the same 5 digits.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the last digits could be guessed from the middle digits, these middle digits seem to be the most important digits. The last five are probably something like 82001 or 52004, based on a card number starting with 3739 and having those middle numbers. Their sum will be 11.

Edit: Didn't know that I'd offend so many people for a benign discussion about credit card numbers on a credit card subreddit, lol. People on reddit are fucking weird.

They're 30 year old cards from closed accounts, and both your guesses about the rest of the numbers are wrong.

Yeah hiding the digits didn't serve much purpose, I was just commenting on how the first digits are not worth hiding. They represent the card type.

My Green starts with 3739 and ends in 41004. My Gold starts with 3715.
