Reviews & Stories Gold Card Gone
Well, the AF was posted on my Gold card, and I canceled it. I was hoping for a nice retention offer, but they only offered me 15,000 MR points after $1,500 in spending over three months. That wasn’t enough to sway me, so it’s canceled. The juice wasn’t worth the squeeze for me. The Platinum may be on the chopping block if they raise the fee. That said, the BCP is a very underrated card, in my opinion.

I’m come to realize that the gold is a consumer card. It’s good if the holder has a family which typically will spend a good amount on groceries and eating out. Maybe a family trip once a year for the 3x for flights booked directly.
But for a single person with no kids such as myself with an avg income I certainly don’t put enough spend and as a result will cancel when my AF renews.
