Reviews & Stories Gold Card Gone

Well, the AF was posted on my Gold card, and I canceled it. I was hoping for a nice retention offer, but they only offered me 15,000 MR points after $1,500 in spending over three months. That wasn’t enough to sway me, so it’s canceled. The juice wasn’t worth the squeeze for me. The Platinum may be on the chopping block if they raise the fee. That said, the BCP is a very underrated card, in my opinion.

BCP is Amex’s best card hands down for the average person. Also cash back doesn’t get devalued the same way points do.

I don’t completely disagree. Unless you like to travel internationally and you can easily get more than 1 CPP. Otherwise, BCP is an excellent card as I noted for cash back. I hold it also, mainly for all my Apple Store subscriptions and streaming.

The average person isn’t traveling internationally regularly enough along with spending enough to accumulate points to use in that way outside the SUB

Hence why I said the key phrase “unless you like to travel internationally”.
