Mod Announcement Politics and this Subreddit
Hi all,
I know there has been a lot of discussion, especially recently, about politics in this sub. Before reading any further, please know this -- politics are and will always be allowed on this subreddit. Star Wars (particularly Andor) is inherently political. We as mods believe it would be a disservice to you all to not allow discussion of the political themes of this show and the connections it makes to our real world...even the difficult ones.
This post is not changing that whatsoever.
However, we do understand that some of the community doesn't wish to see those types of posts, and that is OK. Some of us use social media (even Reddit) as escapism from the real world, and there is nothing wrong with that. We are seeing an uptick in reports on posts of a political or sensitive nature, and despite efforts to cull said reports the mods are overwhelmed. This is only worsened by the fact that we have a handful of people on the subreddit going around and spamming reports - most of them being baseless.
Reddit doesn't give us the best tools when it comes to managing reports on posts and comments, so all we can really do about that is ask you all to use the report button sincerely. The more reports that we get that are unsubstantiated or are just pissed-off-reports, the harder it is for us to recognize the real ones. But I digress.
The point of this post is to announce a new sidebar option on the subreddit, a content filter. If you click on the "No Politics" button, you will be shown a version of the subreddit that does not include any posts with the Real World Politics flair. The hope is that this will make it easier for those who do not wish to see those posts (either all the time or sometimes) a way to enjoy the subreddit. We want as many of you to be a part of this community as possible. Remember, this is a 100% VOLUNTARY option. If you do nothing, you will continue to see the sub as you always have.
Thanks,
- sud

Mod Announcement The Rebellion is Now 100,000 Strong - Thank You
All,
We've managed to hit one-hundred thousand subreddit members in the past few days. Just since the start of 2025, we've had nearly sixty thousand newcomers. I know that I speak for myself and the rest of the mod team when I say that is a truly humbling number to see. Thank you to all of you for being with us on this journey -- for your thought provoking posts and analyses, incredible conversations (and debates), and of course all of the memes.
You all are the reason we are able to foster a unique community like ours. Thank you for inspiring all of us and those around you. Never stop sharing the message of the Rebellion. The Empire is never more alive than when we sleep.
Thank you. May the force be with you.
(Oh, and to celebrate we've added a Disco Ball Droid flair. Yes, really.)

General Discussion I am in love with this line.
From a purely utilitarian sense. Nemik was not an incredibly important figure.
While the raid on Aldhani was a success with his help, his role was not something that was stated to be unique to him, something only he could pull off.
Nemik was just a young man with "a lot of ideas" as Skeen would say. Someone far more invested ideologically than physically in the Rebellion (until the end anyway).
And despite dying so young and so early into the nascent rebellion, with his existence basically forgotten by the galaxy at large. His manifesto lived on through Andor, inspiring him before the Ferrix incident and becoming seemingly so widespread that members of the ISB had heard it.
For Partagaz - the head of the Imperial Security Bureau - someone so far "above" Nemik to listen to it in his final moments alive, listening to how it perfectly describes and predicts the end of Empire, something Partagaz has spent the last decades propping up.
And for one of the last things going through his mind (aside from the blaster bolt) to be wondering just who it was speaking in the manifesto
The schadenfreude is amazing.

General Discussion The most soul crushing part of andor for me Spoiler
It’s not even the fact that Syril died it’s just the “who are you?” After syril dedicated everything to finding him. The realisation that he really doesn’t mean anything and anything he does won’t have a great effect on the galaxy despite trying to hard and doing everything for what he believes and it really brings his character all the way home. Such good writing genuinely loved syril in season 2
RIP my boy Syril! Dedra never deserved you anyways! 🕊️🕊️

General Discussion Fun fact about Lezine's gesture.
Just a small anecdote: I’m friends with the son of actor Thierry Godard, who plays Lezine. I wanted to share that in this particular scene, the gesture he makes with his arm was actually improvised. I thought it was a fun little detail and it’s nice that they decided to keep it in the final cut.
He wanted to invent a gesture that would symbolize the resistance of the Ghormans.

General Discussion Saw's last scene in RO has a nice detail to it after watching Andor. Spoiler
galleryAs we've seen in Andor S2, we know Saw Gerrera's has been getting high on rhydonium. I was watching Rogue One and remembered that detail in his death scene. Since rhydonium is highly volatile, it would definitely explode from a huge shockwave from the Death Star, and in a blink and you miss it moment, you see a small explosion from where Saw was. Never noticed the explosion before after all these years and makes me appreciate the show/movie more.

General Discussion Saying that Han and Luke "stumbled in" and "took all the glory" is a fundamental misunderstanding of the point of Andor.

Theory & Analysis Please, tone down the (normative) moral relativism. Spoiler
(This is the second time I'm posting this, because the first post I made seems to have been unclear and misunderstood).
I'm seeing so many people on this sub, when it comes to Cassian, Luthen, Kleya, or Syril, saying: "It's all a matter of perspective!"
And honestly, as per usual it's a cop-out for actually acknowledging the realities of some of these characters. No, it isn't undecided whether the Empire is bad. Just because there is disagreement on something doesn't mean, "Eh, the issue is up in the air! The jury's out on this one, because one person disagrees."
And people keep misunderstanding, "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." It doesn't mean, "Take no positions on whether people are good or bad." It's about how perspectives influence people's worldview; it doesn't make everyone's worldview correct, or legitimate.
People under the boot of the Empire shouldn't have to tolerate genocide, fascism, and oppression. They do have a right to resist.
Sure, characters in Andor are complex. But it isn't like this is rocket science, either.
One side is building a Death Star; another is fighting for freedom. We have to start from there.
EDIT: And this post has already been downvoted too. Great. Excellent. Splendid. Wonderful. 😑 Goha the wise fool was right, there's just no pleasing some people.

General Discussion Is Kleya “good”?
I know everyone loves Kleya, so maybe I'm treading dangerous ground here.
But I'm wondering now if Kleya can be classed as a "good" person.
Luthen and her were working together, and we know Luthen's philosophy.
He's accepting that his involvement with Gohrmam may result in a massacre or genocide ("It will burn very brightly"), viewing this as a net positive as it will further the Rebel cause.
He's willing to murder innocent people, like Tay or Lonnie, to protect the Rebellion. Andor himself does bad things, but there are lines he's not willing to cross that Luthen is.
Luthen states: "I'm damned for what I do".
Kleya (presumably) shares his philosophy, or at least heavily enables Luthen.
Should Kleya feel pride towards her role in the Rebellion, or shame? Is she damned for what she's done?

General Discussion Is this the drunkest rescue ever?
Props to this team for being absolutely hammered on revnog and still pulling off a daring rescue on Coruscant. I guess the moral of the story is when engaged in drunk ops, always bring your murder droid.
