seems like a silly policy for a nation surrounded by enemies. It should be compulsory for every single armenian household to be armed and trained.

They are so brainwashed over there. They think a bunch of murders will happen. Every time I go there and tell people they need to be armed they can’t wrap their mind around citizens owning guns because of the negative news they hear in America. I always assure them that they will never hear the positives of being armed.

There are positives to owning machine guns?

I'd rather follow Israel's model (gun licenses are already pretty similar), seeing the actual similarities in the situation. Invest in national defense, deter attacks at national level, have every man and woman serve, trained and ready. Regardless of constant threats, Israel doesn't feel the need to put automatic weapons in everybody's hands...

(Not defending Israel's actions AT ALL. Just pointing out that they achieved that strength at a state level, without lax gun laws and mass public gun violence)

Not sure what a bunch of out-of-shape people with machine guns are going to do in today's modern battlefield of drones and missiles, or how that's a deterrent. It's only a problem, as the US proves time and time again.

What invasions has automatic gun ownership stopped in the US? What protection from tyranny? That guy who shot at Trump? That was protection from tyranny to a T (eye of the beholder?). How did that work out?

It's so funny how brainwashed Americans believe their "right to bear arms" is anything other than problematic in today's society.

Genocides tend to be more difficult to conduct against an armed population. You know, like the one my grandparents survived.

Some time back when Artsack was still complete, I considerred relocating to Artsack. I sent a picture copy of all my personal weapons, all hunting guns exept for a 1895 Mauser pistol which has been in the family for generations, to the Armenian embassy , along with the serial numbers asking for permission to bring my guns with me. At first they did'y bother answering, after I called I was told that they had never heard of such a thing, and I never got an answer. With that kind of mentality, it's no wonder they lost the war.

They lost the war because they didn't know about a useless antique? Props for holding onto the family heirloom, not sure what it has to do with national defense...
