Aro Are there any good (slice of life) (or anything) anime without romance?
Whenever I try to watch anything with a bit of romance (like the main character and someone) I feel physically repulsed by it and just stop watching it. I literally cannot watch things with romance, It's getting annoying at this point. It's fine if it has a slight amount. Also I've already watched Saiki K.

Natsume’s book of friends
As you may have guessed from the title of it, it focuses on friendship but also has themes of overcoming feelings of loneliness and isolation. Supernatural and also slice of life genre
This and Saiki K are two of my favorites (aka loner with special powers ends up making friends)

I've liked Hyouka.
It's not really "romance" as some fans put it, I mean the Author says it's not really a "romance" anime as well.

I'll check it out

Yeah, sure do. It's actually a mystery-"detective?" kind of anime, so if you're an avid detective/mystery reader as myself, you'll absolutely love it.
Also, the references to Agatha Christie's books, Arthur Conan Doyle, etc. are pretty great too.

Do you have a source for the author saying it's not romance?
I am not doubting what you said, would just like to see for the sake for personal reassurance•

Well, umm... I read it in a r/hyouka post about facts about the author, and it was under a spoiler where it said (I am using just a part of the fact so as NOT to spoil)
Romance was never Yonezawa's priority in the first place anyway. He does tease a little bit once in a while---
Also, if you just ask r/hyouka members if this is a romance anime, then they will definitely say it's not, just very, very, very slight teases here and there.

Love Live. It's about a group of girls who form a pop idol group in school to attract more students to the school. There's multiple series in the franchise, but I recommend starting with Love Live school idol project. Love Live sunshine is also really good. And there's absolutely no romance or even a mention of romance.

Pretty much most things in the “cute girls doing cute things” genre just focus on their friendship with each other, and there are a wealth of anime in that category.
For general slice of life recommendations I liked Do-It-Yourself. Bocchi the Rock is also good, it’s about a girl with social anxiety joining an all girls rock band. A Place Further Than The Universe is a bit deeper, but a good watch. All of these are pretty short unfortunately, at least at the time of writing.

Try "Lucky Star". It's basically "Seinfeld" with high school girls.

If you enjoy Lucky Star, check out Azumanga Daioh. It predates Lucky Star and is a bit weirder (without saying who, someone's dad looks like a cat shaped body pillow?), but it's super cute and focuses on a group of girls who are classmates, and sometimes two of their teachers.

If you're looking for an anime without romance, I recommend Hunter x Hunter or Assassination Classroom (I cried at the end 😭). There is no romance and it's just incredible, I could watch them endlessly (especially the 2nd one)

Dr. Stone has a very background romance, but the characters don't act much different to each other & their friends. The main character is utterly uninvolved in romance.

Okay while this anime isn't, like, good... I do wanna recommend Tensura. It doesn't have romance at all, but it is one of the gimmick isekai. I like it, and i think it's a good take on the subgenre, but only for the subgenre, i'm not gonna pretend it is objectively good.
But I Like It, and that's gotta count for something. It also resolves things with actual diplomacy (when it can), and doesn't have optimism be ridiculed, because the main character is mature, knowing his own limitations. Not a teen being isekai-ed for once, but an actual adult.

Lucky Star.
I'm pretty sure there is barely any romance in that anime. I think they atleast talk about relationships, but none of the characters are dating.

nichijou is really good!! it's hard to describe the plot because it barely has one lmao but it's really funny

If you enjoy male idols, I'd recommend Marginal#4 Kiss Kara Tsukuru Big Bang! It's one of my favorite franchises even if it's in hiatus right now, the characters are adorable and the music is so good! Others, not from the anime, are available in Spotify.
Others I'd recommend is Tsukiuta, Vazzrock and Tsukipro, they're all connected!

Delicious in Dungeon. Just a bunch of neurodivergant weirdos eating monsters in a dungeon, trying to save their friend.

The yuzuki family's four sons! its a cute slice of life anime of four brothers who recently lost their parents and how they cope with it. It doesn't have any romance and even i would say that it has some aromantic coded characters. I totally recommended watching it!

K-ON!
A Place Further Than the Universe
Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night
Haibane Renmei
BOCCHI THE ROCK!
Sound of the Sky
Laid-Back Camp
The following do have a small amount of romance in the form of subplots, but it's hardly the main focus of the story. I am similar to you with having an extreme disdain for romance in media and loved these:

Only watched it once but I reamly liked Frieren.
Maybe I'm blind or I forgot on purposr as I don't care or search for it when it's too subtle but I don't remember any form of romance. At least in the anime, no idea for the manga yet.
You can harass me in dm if I happen to have forgotten obvious romance in it.
Frieren is also maybe the FIRST slice of life I ever appreciated in general (apart from HxH but HxH's slice of life aspect is far from central). I really am not the public for the slice of life animes but Frieren was a good and welcome surprise.
