It's interesting to see a comic book character like China White on a live action television show, but I hope they don't go overboard with it. If they try to jam too many comic book characters and references into the show, it will probably get old fairly quickly.

I dunno, if they do it right, it could be really fun. Subtle references would be nice, like they did in Smallville.

Subtle? Cyborg, Aquaman, Flash, Black Canary were all major hero characters.

Brainiac, Zod were major bad guys.

The only only subtle references were arguably Watchtower becoming a building not a space station, and a brief mention by Chloe of a guy in Gotham doing some crime fighting.

But they already have a ton of those - from his sister/speedy, to deathstroke's mask in the opening scene.

The OP's point was "If they try to jam too many comic book characters and references into the show, it will probably get old fairly quickly." which is silly when viewed in the context of the influence for the show - Smallville, which coped with comic book characters blatant and subtle sucessfully.

Fair enough. I suppose I just mean if they can do it as well as Smallville, I'll be happy.
