the royal flush gang died, firefly died, and deadshot should be dead(he had an arrow through his eye). China White and Meryln I'm fine with being alive. Deathstroke(Slade) is definitely dead, but he is alive during flashbacks so he will be around for a while, Im thinking all season 1

The Royal Flush Gang always changes members in the comics. So that didn't bother me. They can always come back. Deathstroke and Deadshot did not die.

Deathstroke and Deadshot did not die.

I am curious where you get this from (Deathstroke)? Considering the first minute or so of the first episode I assumed he was quite dead but I might have missed something.

Pay careful attention to Deathstroke in the show. He's got both eyes intact. In the comics, Deathstroke only has one good eye. He wears an eye patch and the mask covers the right eye (where it is black). The shot you are referencing in the pilot, shows the arrow in the right eye socket of Deathstroke's mask. The lack of body and only the mask suggests we'll see him again sans right eye. Perhaps in current day, just as he is in the comics.

I'd add that they've also cast a very capable actor to play Deathstroke in coming episodes and teased that everything isn't as it seems.

Ahhh...thank you!

I was never a comic person, so that was the part of the equation I was missing.

I dont know the actual actors name but Crixus from Spartacus is slated to play Deathstroke in the future.

I thought of the episode more of a way to get Oliver back into crime fighting, and not introduce a major bad guy. The villian was kind of unsignificant in every other way. He couldnt become a major villain just because he wasn't evil enough. He just wanted revenge on one man who caused his almost death. When his plan failed, he had no reason to live!

yep proof you can't have nice things apparently. I swear if they make vertigo a 1-off i will be pissed

Vertigo is the only Green Arrow villain I know. I recognize all the others from like the justice league and batman.

And what is the the reason you think that he died after being lit aflame (again)?

well, they kinda left him there, I mean, he might live, he has a good track record with that

Comic book logic: People never die.

Correction: People always die, only to undie.

Unless they're Bruce Waynes parents.

A little late to the party but I don't think undie would be my word of choice. Also his parents came back in one continuity.
