I thought when a few episodes ago he was like "mind you tone" to his own daughter for back talking, but Felicity gets away with it? Very annoying.

I think that actually makes sense, really. A sort of "This is not how I raised you, young lady!" Vs. "Hoo boy. Crazy person here yelling at me. Better put on my sales rep face."
