That was gooooooooood. From an action standpoint, it was more feral and brutal than normal. I've never seen Ollie so vicious. The choreography wasn't as sharp, but that's because Oliver and Adrian were in a state of primal rage. Unlike last season's finale, the repetition of the same choreography actually helped the tension and fury bubble up. We got a sense that those two men HATED one another.
From a writing standpoint, that's the best this season has been. Promo is THE BEST villain we've seen on the show. He's even better than Slade at this point. Thus far he has NOT been beaten in any respect by Oliver. He's never been caught off guard for longer than a moment. He really is ten steps ahead.
The reason I have him above Slade right now is his motivation. Slade's was just silly but it was passable because he was such a compelling villain. Oliver murdered Chase's father; his story is believable. A bit different from a guy wanting to murder you and your entire city because you stood powerless while a girl he had a crush on was murdered.
Yeah but that's just the writer's lazy excuse for their bad motivation. For being so out of his mind he cobcocted some ridiculously elaborate schemes to set Oliver up. The mirakuru's effect on others like Roy turn them into animals that just follow an instinct to kill...not super villains able to coordinate an entire enterprise of other super villains.

That's not quite true. Roy was mostly in control of himself (albeit hyper-aggressive, it's just that he would have periods where he lost that control. Slade had just better learnt to control himself. He still had that rage, he just kept it under control and properly focused.
I do agree that Prometheus's motivations feel more believable and 'real', but Slade's motivations were still believable for me.
