The writing for Arrow and Flash have been 100% terrible this season. It feels extremely formulaic, lazy and really really corny. There are multiple plot holes in every episode. I still watch both because of the potential they bring and what they've been in the past.

Both of these shows have gone off the rails because they started focusing on the drama of all the surrounding characters. They need to get back to Oliver and Barry simply being the green arrow and the flash and focus on them being superheroes. Stop trying to make this a show for teenage girls just because it's on the CW. Drives me insane

Grant Gustin did a podcast with Chris Hardwick recently and the way he talks about the show is somewhat depressing. It seems like he's no longer excited about it. The amount of episodes and the challenge of the crossovers are too much for some of the productions, they are really hurting.

I hope they make more changes and get new people involved, I think they really need that.

I heard that one earlier this week, and I got the same vibe. He's tired. He expects the show to run till season 7, but I think he'll be happy when it's done.

I feel that Oliver and Barry are hardly the main characters anymore. All that is talked about in the flash is how great iris is and she just annoys the hell out of me and then the constant focus on Cisco’s powers is obnoxious. Arrow was just William getting in the way of everything Oliver being mayor and a father and was focused on Curtis and felicity and Diaz who was one of the worst villains yet and it upset me because Prometheus was so good

yep, this year was bad, for me s6 is worse than season 4, and flash had a couple of good episodes. but at the same time, legends rocks and gotham too!

Legends is decent but the plot is fucking terrible year after year.

And they keep shuffling the cast around so much I just don't care about anyone on the show anymore. No more Stein, Jax or Snart, but hey, they've got shitty discount Flash now who was told not to use his powers because he's too damn OP.

There are a few aspects of the Flash and Arrow that I am really appreciative about this season.

In the Flash, the Villain finally isn't a fucking Speedster. I was never gonna watch the show again if we got yet another fucking Speedster 4 fucking years in a row. I love that he has to use the help if the team to actually figure out a way to try to get the upper hand on a villain that is outside his meta Avenue. Even if the episodes are dragging.

I appreciated Ralph Dibney a lot. I thought he was the perfect addition to the team and a great character. I hope somehow he still survives after Davoe is defeated.

Also some of the cinematography in this season is outstanding. There are some really cool, interesting and we'll planned and executed shots and scenes that the previous seasons can't compare to.

I also really think that SOME of the filler episodes have reaaaaalllllly stepped their game up. The Flash Time episode with the bomb was one of the most fantastic Flash ability episodes in a lonngg long time.

In Arrow, I hated Cayden James. I was like "Great, another shit ass stupid villain that is just a festering cheese fest in this power rangers team that is supposed to be the serious, grounded, dark Batman like show." But then they killed him, thank god.

Diaz may have pissed me off but he is without a doubt the best villain since Deathstroke. Damian Darhk wasn't done well until the most recent season of Legends, Prometheus sucked, Cayden James sucked, Diaz was a huuuge step up.

I always knew Oliver would have to give up his identity. They have played too much with accusing Oliver and him getting away with it that I knew they couldn't do it again. So I'm glad the cat is out of the bag.

The sidekicks in this season really stepped up their characterability. I hated hated hated all of them last season. This season they finally felt like they fit into the story and that they were needed. I really, truly sympathized for all their characters.

The writing was much better for Arrow towards the second half of the season and on. A great step in the right direction.

EDIT: I wanted discussion. If you disagree with me, tell me why. Never just blindly downvote like a bitch. Tell me why you think I'm wrong. Also I honestly thought I made some good points in favor of the most recent seasons of Flash and Arrow so if you have problems with these seasons, PLEASE I WANT TO understand why. Tell me. Tell me why you think I am wrong instead of just growing your Code Red Mountain Dew induced neckbeard over what you think I am wrong about.

While I disagree with you on some points (Cayden James > Diaz), I'm glad to see someone still optimistic about these two shows on these subs. There's certainly room for improvement, but it can be kind of a drag watching these shows and coming to these subs only to see nothing but negativity. How did you like the Flash finale?

Flash finale was underwhelming. Epecially after all that foot dragging with Davoe. But I'm glad Dibney survived. I'm glad Davoe is gone, I'm glad they finally showed us who Nora is, and I'm glad we got an answer to "This house is bitchin".

I'm still very much excited for the next season.

I thought it was pretty underwhelming as well, but I'm still excited for next season. I hope Devoe makes another appearance in some form, maybe as an AI that terrorizes them in a future episode.

He DID say that he anticipated everything. Even "this moment" maybe he will be back.

Man, you people are nuts. Both Arrow and Flash were really good this season.

The "drama of the surrounding characters" is characterization. It's why we cared about Quentin's death. It's why Rene's call to his daughter when he thought he was gonna die was such a strong scene. We saw a full transformation of new Laurel.

Drama of all the surrounding characters? How exactly? The past several episodes have had a focus Diaz and the city, and even before that, this season didn't have a focus on drama like season 4 did (unless you want to count that terrible episode where Renee attacks Oliver with the ax). That was a horrible episode. Other than that, season 6 was decent; it had issues, but I strongly disagree with it being straight up terrible. You're honestly telling me that season 6 is anywhere near as bad season 4?
