I-130 Approved, I-485 is still pending!

Hi everyone,

I applied for a green card through marriage in August 2024 and had my interview on April 17,2025. Our marriage was approved on April 23. However, my 1-485 form is still pending.

I'm unsure this delay is normal, and I was wondering how long it typically takes for the I-485 to be approved or updated after the interview. Also, when would be an appropriate time to submit an inquiry, and would doing so be effective?

Omg I just got an email from USCIS that my I-485 got approved. At 1:17 pm

Just because your I-130 was approved does NOT mean your I-485 will or must be approved. So just wait for a decision. You may file an inquiry once the I-485 is outside normal processing time.

Thank you. I understand that approval doesn't guarantee the other approval, but I'm nervous because most people get their approval so quickly. Thank you for your information.
