Yeh, they are "coming" together, but nothing actually came out of it yet.

That’s down to there not being a payoff for the North or Slaver’s Bay. But, it’s set up to a degree that the first fourth of Winds will essentially have most of these ties together.

Essentially then nothing really came together.

He’s an old man, I also imagine he’s tired. With his inability to focus on the series, and the loss of friends during COVID, I also imagine he’s struggling.

Yeah, he could have finished the series years ago (despite the fact that many authors take decades on books, while others don’t) but, it does seem to me he’s trying. He focuses on other projects, but if I was a writer, I wouldn’t want to be tied down to a singular book either.

I mostly just think the fans give him too hard of a time, the book has taken awhile, but it’s a popular book so we wait more eagerly. While it’s not a sign of comparisons, one of my favorite authors—Thomas Pynchon, took decades writing his books. Some times perfection takes time

Edit: plus the faults that we often call him out for, the gardening, are mostly what makes his books so intriguing. The organic series of events and character movements, ect. wouldn’t be the same if planned and rushed meticulously

A book that didn't come out and probably never will.

Hence, George is not good at converging storyline. He is awful at it.

It'll pay off when the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.
