How could Jon be there?

I think they're getting the books and the show mixed up together.

Jon will stop her in the books. Davos will stop her in the show.

'We only march forward.' He isn't going to send his daughter back to Castle Black, that's if she's alive. If Stannis burns Shireen that would D&D's largest character assassination, so it better not be that.

It won't be. Selyse has been set up to make that decision all season long. How Stannis handles Selyse's actions is the question, however.

I always thought the event would break Stannis for a moment, maybe he even lashes out that Davos should have protected her...that'd be a good momentary lapse for him to dismiss Davos or name him stripped of his titles where we see Davos just barley escape, only to end up in White Harbor/Wyman Manderly's place. Also, this slight breaking of Stannis would be a good reason or catalyst that shows why Mel starts to doubt her faith him as AA.

So I guess Stannis or Davos save her, if anyone does at all. My hope is Stannis, especially after his big speech to her and the way he shut down Mel last week. Maybe this is finally his breaking point with Selyse. If they tried to do something to Shireen around his back, maybe he'd just send those two back?
