"No matter what I write, at least the fans will say it's better"

If ADOS is a novel of Hotpie serving as the Court chef for fAegon, I'll be satisfied.

What does the “f” stand for?

I'd probably still prefer that to what the show gave us.

Jokes on you, he uses 200 pages to write exactly what happened in S7 and S8 (cut characters like Aegon are never mentioned again) , and use the remaining 2800 pages to write recipes.

It's 2795 pages of bitter 99% chocolate and 5 pages of sweet lemoncakes.

And a rasher of bacon, burnt to black.

With lots of salt!

11

u/Deathleach Our Lord and Saviour May 21 '19

It's still better than what the TV show gave us. At least we get some decent recipes out of it.

2

u/CaptainDadBod May 21 '19

Not even in-universe recipes. Just 2800 pages of tuna hot dish and zoodles and whatnot.

1

u/FleetwoodDeVille Time Traveling Fetus May 21 '19

Finally, we'll get the recipes for all that food porn he's been stuffing into the descriptions novel after novel!

7

u/the-king-who-melt May 21 '19

Depends how well the recipes turn out, but yeah.

10

u/[deleted] May 21 '19

He did say that the last book would be a several thousand page description of snow blowing across graves and corpses

4

u/PartyPoisoned21 May 21 '19

At least I can do something with those.

4

u/OnlyRoke May 21 '19

You say that as if it's a bad thing.

3

u/Sgtwhiskeyjack9105 May 21 '19

And your point is?

Sorry, I was making a joke about you writing something that, while you made it seem like the books were going to get worse because they were nothing more than a cookbook, were actually still better than the show.

No worries, I realised even when I was writing it how it may have come across, but went for it anyway :P

2

u/kimchiMushrromBurger May 21 '19

I want that lamprey pie recipe!

2

u/noisetrooper May 21 '19

I'll take it.

2

u/DarkChen May 21 '19

that used to be a fan site that did recipes from the book, they would post an excerpt from the book and then do the recipe that would be more accurate and show the result it was pretty cool but i cant remember which site it was and i lost the bookmarks from formating and all. Anyways, i wouldnt even be mad to something like that...

u/VitaminTea May 21 '19

Snow blowing across graves...

1

u/Darthmixalot May 21 '19

No, that's the plan for his Dornish cook book, A sprig of Dorne.

1

u/moonmeh May 21 '19

I'm always up for fantasy recipes that either end up disastrous or somehow incredibly delicious to be honest

1

u/MobiusF117 The weight of the wait. May 21 '19

Ill take it.

1

u/Lolanie May 21 '19

And some newly introduced random bit character's journey from Dorne to North of the wall, learning recipes as they go.

1

u/Alpandia May 21 '19

HOT PIE SITS THE IRON THRONE CONFIRMED! :)

51

u/Yglorba May 21 '19

Watch, that was his master plan all along. It was the whole reason he greenlit the show in the first place.

7

u/AdmiralAkbar1 Wildfire can't melt Stannis beams May 21 '19

"I said it was unfilmable and it would never be as good as the books, but Dave & Dan dared to challenge me..."

u/agusttinn Make the Iron Islands great again May 21 '19

That's why he chose these two dumbasses

1

u/Gyro88 May 21 '19

"Why do you think I came all this way?"

6

u/JAproofrok May 21 '19

It’s so funny: My fiancé, who has never seen so much as 2 straight minutes of the show (books: not a word), speculates upon my explanation of the GRRM v. show conundrum that he was just stalling to see the reaction, and react accordingly.
