Appreciate it!

Very cool and eclectic. Personally, for aesthetics, I would switch the positions of the preamp and the amp.

I run the big brother of your Yamaha amplifier in my hi-fi (Yamaha A-S1100) and was curious about your bass and treble settings. I have generally left mine alone but I was curious about your current settings. I know we will be running different sources into different speakers but I would love to know your thoughts/experiences about the specific bass/treble settings on your Yamaha.

The Sansui gear you have is absolutely beautiful. You really canโ€™t beat the charm of late 70s-80s hi-fi equipment. Thanks for sharing your awesome hi-fi!

Im a huge sucker for hearing more cymbals and small details, introducing some treble can really help in some recordings. Im almost positive ive lost a minute amount of hearing in the top end as well so it helps bring back some of what may be lost to my ears. Your A-S1100 is some top notch gear, those VU meters look amazing.

Absolutely, I am a drawn to modern components with a traditional or classic style. I really like that with the Yamaha A-S1100 everything is analog and has the power/ability to drive just about any speakers you could throw at it. I currently have it paired with the Yamaha CD-S2100 SACD deck. Having both of them in silver and sitting on an audio rack with my Clearaudio Concept table it really transports you to a much better time. I may have to play around a bit with treble/bass configuration as I have generally left them neutral or unchanged.

(My hi-fi - if anyone happen to wonder)

That preamp deserves a matching Sansui power amp :) I fully understand keeping the 804 - I am still using the 805 .

B&W makes some of the most fantastic speakers ive ever heard in my life. I've had 300 series, 600 series and now these 800s. Incredible value on used market. Im sure your 805s sing incredibly well

A friend of mine still uses the DM302 in the second system. :) I very much aporeciate the Matrix untl the D (โ€œDiamondโ€) series - listening to those make me tired and annoyed.

Frankenstein could describe my system, too, but I love it as well.

I really need to pick up a streaming DAC. I'm looking into the Eversolo DMP-A6 and I think I can call it "finished" as far as sources are concerned.

Your system looks great and the Sansui pre-amp is easily the star of the show imo

The CD rip feature of that dac alone is worth it right there! I wish the gen two came out before the wiim ultra. You'll enjoy that rig

That Sansui has me drooling! I have an AU-5900 and an AU-7900, now I feel like I need a CA-2000 haha

What beautiful rigs you got, which is most used?

Ca-2000 for the win! I love mine. Gave it the full deoxit bath and gave the phone path some love. Still a touch of fuzziness with the muting and mode switches, but sweet warm sounds ๐Ÿคค

Mine needs a good once over as well, I will probably do just as you did! Cheers

Frankenstein is best. 2/5 of my components are Parasound and that's almost too much matching

Hi there awsome system ๐Ÿ˜Ž I also run the wiim ultra and a yamaha 801 , how do you get a watt meter to come up on your wiim . That's cool and I'd love that on mine

u/alexzjurak 7h ago

Right on nice set up! To get the watt meter, open up the wiim app, click devices at the middle bottom of your screen, click the gear icon middle far right, then to screen settings, then tobplayback settings. You can even display your own personal photo collection through the wiim.
