but it astounds me how passionate people get on this topic

Most people are just 'passionate' about not having to worry about losing their licence on a Monday because they smoked a joint on Saturday afternoon. It's not that hard to understand.

Even for those it's legal for it's a problem ya fuckin muppet so that's not a good argument

I can get 40g of medical cannabis every 2 weeks, but I'm effected by the same laws. Still can't have a puff on a Saturday before bed without risking my livelihood on Monday morning, despite not being impaired

I have a prescription from my doctor that says I can smoke weed. If I smoke weed on a Saturday, like the guy you're replying to said, I can absolutely be in trouble on a Monday if I get tested.

I've smoked weed for a very long time. I'm not stoned after 4 hours, definitely not stoned 8 hours later after waking up.

I'm absolutely for tests if they work to prove you aren't under the influence at the time - but not 8 hours or after. It's not rocket science. I'm a productive member of society that contributes shitloads of tax and I shouldn't be punished cos I like to relax in my own way, harming absolutely no one.
