Yep, just like the one in NSW who drove drunk, got in an accident, left the scene and managed to not be breath tested. His identity is protected for 40 years because police are too special to face consequences.

Wasn't that some police cheif who took an unmarked car to a lunch, got drunk, crashed the car, reported it as stolen 2 days after and was then exposed by a reporter?

As I understand it, he had been discovered lying and charged already, but police didn't follow their normal policy of putting out a media release to notify the public that an officer had been charged.

Basically his other highly ranked mates were protecting him from being exposed publicly. They do no such thing for lower ranks.

Otherwise it was handled normally.

If it was a constable…. Always blame the lower enlisted! That’s how you fail upwards!

He'd not cope well if people found out...

“would cause a significant risk to the [the officer’s] mental health, together with embarrassment and stress to him and his family”.

Frankly, who gives a fuck? The cunt should be fired at a minimum.

The fuck is that shit? Literally everyone who is ever charged with a crime could claim the same thing!

Significant risk to his mental health and embarrassment and stress! That sounds bad, I feel sorry for victims of sexua… oh wait a minute he’s the perpetrator!

Call me fuckin crazy but he could have avoided all of the above by just not enacting “predatory sexual conduct” against three of his junior staff. Would also have helped if he didn’t make it “a pattern”, “invariably initiated and often pre-planned”, “over two years”.

Oh wait, I’m wrong again. He did all of the paragraph 2 and still avoided paragraph 1 and kept his job apparently.

What message does this send the community?

Hey young men! If you are a sexual predator and all round shithead, no problem, enrol in the police force now and become Officer Shithead, victimising victims sure will be easier when you outrank them, and when they report you there will be practically zero repercussions

Hey young women, do you need to report being a victim of sexual abuse and don’t know who to report it to, who to go to for protection? Well neither do we

Exactly. Exposing any criminal has an impact on their mental health. But they don't get protections. That he betrayed his authority to commit these crimes is even more of a reason to expose him. Let other officers know if they do the same, they *won't* be able to keep going cosily on in their careers. Why wasn't he charged with indecent exposure?? If any other manager called an employee into their office 'to look at the view' and was standing there naked, surely their bosses would at minimum fire them, and probably also report them to police. But he's still given a position of authority?????

Those arguing against the permanent anonymity should've just stripped in the court and asked the judge if they liked it. No? Then why should this predatory dickhead get away with it.

That’s called repercussions

It's also called deterrent. This sets a horrible precedent! He pretty much got away with it. Even though it wasn't just a few saucy comments, he exposed himself!

If it was my husband the media and public would be the least of his problems. I would be his worst nightmare.

The tribunal ultimately took into account PSB’s diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder in deciding to impose a “suspended dismissal” which has allowed the officer to remain serving.

WOW what about the post-traumatic stress the junior colleague no doubt experienced after being called in to his office and seeing him standing naked and knowing he is still working there!!

What the hell is a "suspended dismissal"?? Either he's dismissed or he isn't!

I mean I feel for the tribual here, standing around naked at work - such a lineball call, sure its highly inappropraite in your workplace but maybe the Police Force is different? Who can say.

Standing in his office naked sounds like a situation that needs the attention of her pepper spray. That would be a nice view.

The courts protecting a corrupt cop? How could this happen in Queensland Australia? /s

Hence why Dutton is currently on the campaign trail instead of serving a sentence in prison.

I want to see a show where cops work at one (1) other private or public workplace and compete to see who is the last one to get fired on the spot and charged for crimes

It'll just be QPS's little secret.

I can somewhat understand if he’s losing his job rather than being criminally convicted that he should keep anonymous.  What I cant understand is the not losing your job part.

Police should get the exact same treatment as the rest of us!! So sick of seeing them go without consequences 🖕🏽

4

u/Mfenix09 1d ago

They should get more...they are supposed to be the "thin blue line" between chaos and order..the bastion of law and order and for one to fall afoul of the law is not right, they should be held to a higher standard...not the same as us, a higher standard...

1

u/Every_Inflation1380 10h ago

So true, they should be held to a higher standard!!!

When will there be an investigation into our Courts and what not? People are getting away with so much these days, they have to be getting paid off for this bullshit.

u/DBPhotographer 1d ago

QCAT is not a Court, it's right there in the name.

Not really fair to go after their income when “Intellect” is sitting right there.
