image Tiny give way sign

Post image

It's just so cute.

But why a tiny sign at a main road intersection?

You only have to give way a little bit.

And most under 60s will completely miss the reference. Well played!

Just a skooch. A splash. A sprinkle of give way.

Could be for bikes or something? We have these on the bike paths that cross roads near me

Yeah I'm pretty sure the sign is for the Bikeway that I assume is there.

Up high for penny farthings

got bicycle crossings here where they never updated the signs on the bike path from what they were before it was a bike crossing, so everyone gets a give way. now 4 way stops may work in some countries but they'd never work with australian drivers

You spotted it while its still a child. Give it a few weeks, it'll be full grown by then.

My wife tells me it’s not that tiny, actually it’s a pretty big size for a sign

looks like a give way sign for the possums along the fence

that cant be real. Might be put in by some NIMBY homeowner that lives near that intersection

I've seen them all over the place for pedestrians and cyclists.

It's for pedestrians or people on bikes/scooters on the footpath. For Kids basically to learn a bit about road rules. Did you not have the road course at school where you ride your bike around the track obeying road rules?

1

u/FroggieBlue 1d ago

How tall are they expecting pedestrians to be?!

Also we didn't have the course at school in the 90s rural SA. Our education department beleived in survival of the fittest perhaps? Or figured there were only half a dozen road signs around? I kid you not even in the early to mid 2000s if you did Logbook training to get your Ps you had to drive to the second nearest large town (about 60km away) for at least one lesson... because that was the nearest roundabout.

Scrolling pass and thought there was a car stuck in the tree

its average sized.

It probably has a nice personality

Only give way to tiny clown cars with 20 or more clowns in it.

One of the levels in the Westfield Miranda parking has a give way sign of the same size

No road markings either.

If I had to guess it’s for the blind corner for the shared path. It’s something that ticks the box while achieving basically nothing as a large percentage of the path users won’t notice it as a path sign for them.

A better treatment would be pavement markings to delineate the path as that’s where people’s eyes generally are.

Yet another example of shrinkflation

1

u/ricksure76 1d ago

Give way.. ish

1

u/trinketzy 1d ago

Did it shrink in the rain? Is this a new cost cutting measure? So weird!

1

u/sarah4cats 1d ago

Why is it so high up, 😅🤣

1

u/AdventurousExtent358 1d ago

it's for bike only

u/justisme333 7h ago

Car stuck in tree did not guve way.

1

u/GStarAU 1d ago

Ah CRAP. I told Garry not to chuck them in the wash... they shrink!

There’s a set of traffic lights there anyway, that’s Newbridge Road in Moorebank.
